About half a carrier bag full. Ours were v v small. You can just use whatever quantity fits in your biggest pan though!

Thanks for invite- do I wait for an email from Pinterest now?

Zeeky · 05/10/2011 15:23

Does anyone know what rosehips look like? I spotted some small red things growing on tree/shurubby things whilst driving home. I also managed to pick a roses tin full of blackberries this morning!

Debka, where did you get your apples from? Did you buy them or pick them?

overmydeadbody · 05/10/2011 16:35

Made the lemon hand scrub today and have put it in jars but a thin layer of oil has gathered at the top, is this normal or have I done it wrong?

You lot and pinterest are a bad influence on me! I was only ment to be looking at ideas for next year while I concentrate on being pg and looking after dd while I'm ill and so far I have made the hand scrub, button ornaments, balballes, crayons and have stuff to make bath fizzers, bath salts and salt dough decorations. I blame all of you!

RoyalWelsh · 05/10/2011 17:35

thanks OMDB. I may well get my fruitpicking shoes on again in the morning!

slightobsession my dad has a tree in his front garden, I bagsied all the apples off it Grin. Don't think you can buy them in the shops.

BoffinMum · 05/10/2011 21:09

Our Coxs were scrumped at the weekend Sad

acsec · 05/10/2011 22:26

Timeforcake I just used the biggest saucepan from my set and it made 4 normal sized (maybe 284ml?) jars.

Slightobsession I was thinking of making something with rosehips as many gardens up my road have them growing (was going to ask not pinch) but was put off by this "A research student wrote me with the following cautionary note:
"Anyone using rose hips for cooking should remove all the seeds. They are covered with sliver-hairs that, when ingested, irritate the digestive system and cause what the aboriginal people call "itchy bottom disease."
And the fact they are used to make itching powder!

BoffinMum · 05/10/2011 22:56

You have to filter them through a teatowel three times but then all the hairs go. Rosehip syrup is absolutely delicious.

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 07:27

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 07:32

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 07:34

Hmm, found it, but this is all it came up with?! Confused

deemented · 06/10/2011 07:43

HippyHippopotamus · 06/10/2011 07:51

flubba really cheap ribbon (30p per metre) available in a shop near me. How much, what width and what colours are you after? Not sure when I'll be over there next but if you're not in a hurry I can pick some up for you in a couple of weeks
