What are you putting out for Father Christmas (if you don't like brandy and mince pies)?

Just wondering what I he could have instead.

Maybe a glass of Baileys and something sweet from M&S? Any recommendations?

DD wants to leave fish pie and wine which is fine by us Grin

Sirzy · 21/12/2010 20:55

I upset my parents as a child by stating that Santa couldn't drink drive so left milk for him with a mince pie!

Perhaps get the kids to make some cookies or cakes for santa on christmas eve?

shinyshoesandglitterypoos · 21/12/2010 20:58

Nothing since he doesn't exist Grin

MumInBeds · 21/12/2010 20:59

We have the drinking and driving thing too so it is milk, a couple of biscuits and a carrot for the raindeer.

Mrsfred · 21/12/2010 21:00

We always leave a beer because the DD's are sure that he's sick of milk and brandy by the time he's reached our house!!

MumInBeds · 21/12/2010 21:00

Shh Shiney! You'll make me cry! Grin

cornyPrawnsdefrostJasonDonovan · 21/12/2010 21:00

I may be leaving him a nice cup cake and some mulled wine

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 21/12/2010 21:02

DC have decided Santa is too fat so we are leaving him an apple. He's still allowed the sherry though

MinnieMummy · 21/12/2010 21:02

Hmm, maybe we could make Nigella's brownies Xmas eve for me and DH him.

Surely as long as the reindeer are sober it's ok to put out alcohol? Xmas Wink

Glass of milk and a mince pie normally and a carrot for the reindeer (which my greyhound munches on outside the front door dropping bits of carrot which look like bits the reindeer dropped!) Grin

Sirzy · 21/12/2010 21:07

Nooo, santa still has to drive the sleigh and make sure everyone gets the right presents.

Imagine all the upset children on christmas morning if a drunk santa gets things mixed up!

southeastastra · 21/12/2010 21:07

loaded question op Grin

LadyOfTheFlowers · 21/12/2010 21:09

Homemade 'Mincy' and gingerbread biscuits, made by the boys and a glass of squash probably. :)

MinnieMummy · 21/12/2010 21:10

Ha ha ha SEA!

That would be good too... if we have any energy left...

Ach, Santa can handle the drink, I'm sure- he's a big lad. Here he gets a glass of port and a bit of shortbread. Rudolph gets a carrot, but strangely only ever eats one big massive bite...

cornyPrawnsdefrostJasonDonovan · 21/12/2010 21:20

Santa knows everything doesn't he? Would he know whether Leonardo was awake or asleep at the end of Inception I wonder?

MinnieMummy · 21/12/2010 21:28

Aaargh Corny I haven't seen it (in fact, haven't been to the cinema in 2 yrs) and now I'm sure it's completely ruined for me.

Should I ever be bothered to see it, that is...

(DH is a sucker for bombastic over the top sci-fi, so it seems likely)

dinkystinky · 21/12/2010 21:30

Milk and biscuits in our house, plus a carrot for the reindeer...

zisforzebra · 21/12/2010 21:30

The DCs have decided that we will make cookies on christmas eve to leave out with some milk. (Gotta fight my way home from work in the snow first!) Xmas Confused

lol at Corny! I was confident that I understood that film at the end but didn't want to talk about it too much incase I didn't! Xmas Grin

cornyPrawnsdefrostJasonDonovan · 21/12/2010 21:31

but was he awake or asleep Confused

Lotster · 21/12/2010 21:34

I always put out for Father Chiristmas Xmas Wink

ahem, and mince pie and a glass of sherry of course!

mothernature · 21/12/2010 21:47

Mince Pie, Sherry and a Carrot - my dear darlings are 2 x 19 and 1 x 21 they still insist!! Xmas Grin

HSMM · 21/12/2010 22:07

Santa really isn't fussy you know. He is always happy to nibble at whatever we have found to leave out. We do try and leave fruit or veg for the reindeer though.

ChippyMinTurnAgainWhittington · 22/12/2010 11:57

Santa gets whatever DH suggests Xmas Wink, and a mince pie. And Rudolph gets a carrot.

I can't wait till gone midnight for a drink fgs.

theywillgrowup · 22/12/2010 12:18
