What do YOU want for Christmas?

I've been present-planning and was suddenly struck by the certain realisation that nobody is currently thinking about what I would like. And I realise that, actually, there's loads of stuff I'd like. For starters:

  • a really nice big mug for my morning tea
  • Molton Brown lip balm (found this when upgraded on a flight years ago and now can't use anything els, but also can't justify it as it's £10 for a tube Blush
  • both of Nigel Slater's recent books on veg and fruit. The veg one most though.
  • some boots (tricky for anyone to give these - I need to find them really)
  • some of this year's Uniqlo cashmere
  • some Tweezerman tweezers to replace some I lost 18 months ago
  • a microplane grater

Written down this doesn't sound quite as grabby as I thought it was in my head as I'm not expecting all if it by any means. I know I won't get the boots and have a back-up plan (hairdryer).

Please tell me that it's not me who has more idea what I want than what to get anyone else?!

I not only know, I have asked Blush

Good Housekeeping magazine subscription
Necklace from Tlws
Body Shop smellies
New Jamie Oliver book

thereistheball · 02/11/2010 20:34

Sorry about the typos. Was on my phone.

I am going to order instruct if nobody asks me what I want in the next couple of weeks. Have long since given up hoping for the best where DH is concerned.

I am really princessy about Christmas, and want to be made a fuss of. You too? We can't be the only ones?

CherryRocketMonster · 02/11/2010 20:36

i have no idea! everyone is asking me but i dont know. mum will spend about £50, and will have about £25-£30 from my brother and the same from my sister.

CherryRocketMonster · 02/11/2010 20:36

could do with some ideas really

taffetacat · 02/11/2010 20:50

This is very scary. thereistheball - you are, in fact, me.

Excellent taste. Grin

I want:

  • Boots. Riding style, very good leather, flat.
  • Kitchen Aid mixer. Never going to happen.
  • Tender Vol 2 - I have the veg one.
  • EB Big Love and Jumping Reindeer mugs
  • A Kew voucher for a million pounds or thereabouts
  • an iPad. Not happening.
thereistheball · 02/11/2010 21:14

Yes those are the boots I want too :)

Also the soon-to-be-released India Knight novel, so I can ignore the clearing up and bury myself on the soda with a glass of wine.
Would certainly ask for a KitchenAid if I thought there was a snowflake's chance in hell.

Would settle for plush new set of White Company bed linen though.

A bicycle shed

iheartdusty · 02/11/2010 21:16

My list:

-books by persephone press
-a cheese board

  • Korres organic shower wash and body stuff
  • a mousemat with a picture of or by DC on it
  • a desk lamp
  • a special little something from the craft fair in town next week (I shall be selecting and purchasing this myself)
- book about wildlife gardens (already bought by me and stashed for DC to wrap up and give me)

Top tip, if you didn't already know it, is that Amazon now have a button you can use to add things to your wish list that are on any website - not just on Amazon. So if you find the perfect pair of boots on (say) L K Bennett or wherever, you can add them to your Amazon wishlist as a link to the L K Bennett website.

I would LOVE an eternity ring and have taken to giving my DH the finger ( ring finger) at every opportunity as a huge hint.

Really not sure whether I'll get one or not. My engagement and wedding bands are platinum, bought pre-DC when there was more money floating around. Not sure I'd want a white gold one.... am prone to princess moments too....

Short of the ring, would love
Tickets to see Phantom of the Opera
Coco Chanel perfume
Nigella's new book
Bed socks

thereistheball · 02/11/2010 21:17

Gah - sofa Blush

Not me, it's the auto-correct, honest

OP posts:
Hulababy · 02/11/2010 21:21

I am hoping DH will get me an iPad :)

Other thangs I have requested fom those tat have asked:

  • digital photo frame
  • Nigella's new cookbook
  • Jamie's new cookbook
  • Hairy Bikers cookbook
  • Joseph Joseph herb cutter
  • maybe some autobiographies
  • perfume
thereistheball · 02/11/2010 21:21

Iheart - have you read Mariana by Monica Dickens? I think it is Persephone Press' 2nd book. Wonderful. Also they have a diary out for next year that looks nice.

Some really good Chablis
A trip to South America to buy some fabulous wallhangings
A magic DJ to create playlists on my iPod with a crescendo of ever more wonderful tracks for every occasion, stuff I can't be bothered to download/don't know the name of the track/forgot I liked it etc

Yeah right.

I expect I will get the usual - some dodgy homewares, some very dodgy jewellery, some liqueur chocolates ( bleurgh )- thanks rellies - and few items I actually want from my lovely dh.

thereistheball · 02/11/2010 21:23

Also good tip re wish list - may do that!

OP posts:
thereistheball · 02/11/2010 21:24
