Bleeding both ends

I am very lost on where to go. We are in A&E for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. On Monday DD who is 8 started to vomit coffee ground vomit, had an emergency endoscopy they found ulcers and started her on IV medicaion and admission for 3 days, went home, she had 2 days on a drip not able to eat or drink, was back on food and sent home. We lasted 48 hours at home she started vomting blood again back into hospital just spent time in a bed, had 2 bags of drips some tummy protector and anti sickness. Since then she has become so bloated. She was a child who hardly meets the weight scale for her age.

She is back in hospital tonight she is now bleeding from both ends. Her vomit has blood in it and her poo is just blood, she is just lifeless in bed she is not even moving when the doctors and nurses come to see her. She has never ever had bleeding from her bum. Google is scary

I have no experience or advice to share but am sending moral support.

Wondering about inflammatory bowel disease.

Can it just happen like this?

Very unusual for it to come on this fast, but I have known it happen.

God, I’m sorry to read this, how scary. I hope they find out what is wrong quickly and it can be treated quickly too.

Have they done a stool test? Friend of a friend had ecoli and was both ends from the straining. Cousin has colitis, that’s a possibility. Other thing, sea swimming or river swimming and picked up an infection that way?

Has she ever been tested for coeliac if she always been underweight?

I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. I forgot to add my cousin was little when diagnosed, think 9/10, unusual but not unheard of. Good luck.

Have they mentioned coeliac at all? Worth raising if not. Hope they get her comfortable and you get some answers soon.

Coeliac is a good shout. Don’t absorb nutrients and often underweight. Youngest partner is coeliac took a while for a diagnosis.

They took some samples when they did the camara into her tummy but said it would take a few weeks for them results to come back. They have had her wee and poo in a toilet in her bay she has poo'd more blood they are going to give her a blood transfusion and something to try and stop the bleeding she is a dreadful colour

It’d be extremely unusual for coeliac to cause that kind of bleeding.

Are they testing for infection to check for E. coli etc. Any outdoor swimming/farm visits/zoo trips etc? I’m so sorry you’re going through this

I know is Sunday, but have the hospital staff on duty requested that the paediatric gastroenterology team be urgently involved?

I dont know who but they said they have called the consultant on call to come and see her but there is so many doctors in and out I dont know who is who
