@SuziQuinto thanks and I have done lots more extensive research and looked up medical papers. Both books I mention ARE written by doctors / medical researchers and not conspiracy theorists. Alongside my experience and what I have seen happening I am led to the conclusion they are ineffectual and even dangerous, so unnecessary for a well fed and nourished child. If vaccines work your kid will be ok so you do you.

In recent news AZ has now admitted their vaccine caused blood clot. Pfizer is being hauled over the coals and it has now been shown they withheld Covid vax trial data. All these pharma have been repeatedly fined for false representations / malfeasance over the years. The medical establishment itself has a history of rejecting findings and sticking to the status quo - eg smoking. As early as 1912 research came out to show it caused cancer. It was shown unequivocally to cause cancer in the 1950s. Yet it was still endorsed by medics into the 60s. Semmelweis and handwashing. Your local GP learns the vaccine schedule, not the mechanisms / problems, s/he learns nothing of nutrition (8 hrs of lectures tops on things like scurvy) and yet we run to them with questions on both?! No thank you
but as I said - you do you

Autumn1990 · 05/05/2024 07:24

Mine have had all the vaccines offered except the covid vaccine. I have had various covid jabs but feel the risk of small children being very ill with covid is so small it’s not worth bothering with.
I do have a close relative who had a severe reaction to a vaccine but it was a long time ago and the vaccine used is now different. I have not been vaccinated against this disease but my children have. I did explain the situation to the GP and they a) took is seriously and b) found and printed the info of both the new and old vaccines and the date when the nhs changed over from old to new which was way before my children needed vaccinating.
I could describe in detail the reaction the relative had and I suspect it wasn’t that uncommon

OligoN · 05/05/2024 07:30

My kids are vaccinated.

But I do know that the reasons people don’t are complex, multilayered, with a kernel of fear. Those fears are not allayed by trying to make people accountable to randomers on the internet in a hostile and aggressive way. When people feel patronised or condescended to they are unlikely to go along with the demands of those patronising them.

The benefits of vaccines stand up on their own merits, and stand up to scrutiny. (Maybe some of the COVID ones less than Polio or MMR), so the reasons people decline the vaccines are not to do with the vaccine, they are to do with other things.

SuziQuinto · 05/05/2024 07:31

@curious79 you are not as qualified as the people who make vaccines. You do not know more.
I would rely on medical professionals.
Like you said though: you do you.

JuicyOrange01 · 05/05/2024 07:32

@mrsbrightside1308 @LettersOfTheAlphabet I’m so sorry. I really wish there were more answers/research into these overnight changes. It’s absolutely mind blowing to witness. I had no idea it was possible to regress that fast. Must have been traumatic. No matter the cause.

AllThePotatoesAreSinging · 04/05/2024 18:49

My children are vaccinated because I don’t want them to die or end up maimed by diseases that were largely eradicated until that utter bellend Andrew Wakefield made up a load of hogwash about vaccines causing autism.

No vaccines please. I don’t want an autistic child. I’d rather have one that is deaf, dumb, blind, or all 3 like Helen Keller was thanks to measles/rubella/meningitis (the doctors said it was brain fever, we’ve got vaccines for all of these possible causes now).

Edited

Perfectly put.

ASighMadeOfStone · 05/05/2024 07:41

@curious79
No vaccine is without a minuscule risk.

As you'll know (from your extensive research) the risk of blood clots from COVID infection was so very much higher than from the vaccines, wasn't it?

BatchIt · 05/05/2024 07:48

My brother works in intensive care and sees a lot of children with measles. The parents beg and plead with him to do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING to help their very seriously ill child.

He says every time he thinks, “all you had to do was vaccinate them and you didn’t even do that”.

DancefloorAcrobatics · 05/05/2024 07:50

@curious79 How do you explain the current raise in measles, for example?
Are we neglecting hygiene & nutrition in our children compared to 25-30 years ago?

Betterifido · 05/05/2024 07:50

I vaccinate Because I don’t want them to die from a serious disease. And I also don’t want these diseases to come back into circulation and kill others. Simple really!

Decided to refuse the standard vaccinations and follow the schedule I had been subject to when younger (have every record). There are a shockingly huge amount of vaccines given now and the shit in them (eg formaldehyde) is shocking. Then read ‘Dissolving Illusions’ and ‘Turtles all the way down’ to find that the vast majority of vaccines have absolutely no efficacy, plus were not even associated with removal of said diseases. Instead improvements in public health and sanitation and diet were. Vaccine clinical trials are a sham. So decided against vaccines in entirety. Declined HPV for my DD as two girls on our street are impacted post vaccine - one with lupus, one with POTS. Day of vaccination at her school one of the girls ended up being unable to walk. The idea that adverse events are really rare is just absurd. Look at children today with ADHD, autism, allergies, asthma etc through the roof. We’re doing something wrong.

But the schedules and the vaccines and their combinations are different now.
So it would be impossible to follow your childhood schedule.
I've been vaccinating for thirty years so seen a fair few changes in what we use.

ASighMadeOfStone · 05/05/2024 07:56

@curious79

The author of your first book (Suzanne Humphreys) has been widely discredited in the US for her stance on vaccinations. There are many articles (not in blogs, or users' own websites etc but in MSM (so thoroughly vetted beforehand by legal teams, particularly in a litigious context like the US) where she is named and shamed to the point that scientists and medical professionals say that she is far more dangerous to children's health than Wakefield ever was. Interestingly, all those articles are still out there. If they were untrue she'd have had them removed like a shot. (pun intended)

The other book you mentioned has "Anonymous" as its author, but is a series of articles and factoids collated by two well known anti-vaxxers. Neither of whom are medical professionals.

Earwormed · 05/05/2024 07:59

I don't hold a lot of trust in medicine in general, but my family are all fully vaccinated. I can't imagine not vaccinating my DC, it feels like a small thing to do prevent such a lot of potential problems, for them and for those around us.

Jennywren2000 · 05/05/2024 08:10

I did, of course. Because children often used to die of preventable childhood diseases, and still do in places where vaccines aren’t available.

sashh · 05/05/2024 08:14

TheTimeTravellerswifeisaFraser · 04/05/2024 19:07

There’s a measles epidemic going round OP. Protect your child from it.

I'm actually booking in for an MMR (or the latest version) I'm in my 50s. MMR wasn't available to me as a child, I had mumps, I think I had a measles vaccine, I don't remember though and I did have the rubella jab at school.

As a child my mother was in hospital for 6 weeks with diptheria.

@curious79 you are talking nonsense.

The formulations of modern vaccines may be for multiple diseases but we have got better at making them so children are exposed to less of the active ingredient.

Formaldehyde is actually created by the human body and does not accumulate in the body. It is also present in apples, bananas, carrots and spinach and some meat.

MamaGarl85 · 05/05/2024 08:31

The problem is you will never get through to some people, they have made up their mind (for whatever misguided reason) and the rest of us (and our children) are left to suffer the consequences.

Children die or are permanently maimed by perfectly avoidable diseases but they will listen to some idiot on the Internet with no scientific training who tells them to put on their tin foil hat coz the system is trying to poison your children!

This is irony, right?

With your logic, if one unfortunate person gets killed crossing the road then you'll never cross another road, even though millions of others do it safely every day?

The only person I know who is an anti-vaxxer also just brushes her daughter's teeth with water and not toothpaste 'because fluoride is a chemical' 😳that's the level of stupidity and neglect it can get to once you choose Facebook etc over medical professionals.

Does she know that water is a chemical too, or that her daughter is actually composed entirely of chemicals?

SuziQuinto · 05/05/2024 08:52

I think some people think "chemicals= bad" so that's the end of the conversation.

Cloclo93 · 04/05/2024 21:11

My dd is vaccinated not the covid vax, but I do believe it's alot of toxic to be put into little babies especially the mmr vax 13 months is too young. My friend got her twins partially vaccinated and my sil is refusing to vaccinated her child but she's a bits nuts anyway

You believing 'it's a lot of toxic' or that it's 'too young' doesn't supercede swathes of scientific or medical evidence though.

I know. It's extraordinary! Plus the "it's a lot of toxic" just demonstrates the levels of ignorance involved.

Because they’re thick

AppasAnnie · 05/05/2024 08:59

DD is doing the 6in1 vaccine trial, I really dislike those who are so anti science tbh
