They’re probably fine, as a direct result of the responsible actions of the rest of the population.

Apart from the ones who got polio and measels and mumps and rubella. And whooping cough. They’re fucked.

BrokenWing · 27/12/2018 01:00

Think Karen has eloquently said everything that needs said here!!

Anything else you need to know op?

BadgerWithSprouts · 27/12/2018 01:00

I thought about it, but then I decided I didn’t want my child to die from pneumonia or encephalitis, or become brain damaged, as a complication of a preventable illness and changed my mind.

villainousbroodmare · 27/12/2018 01:02

No. I also look right and left before I cross the street.

For fuck's sake, have some sense.

Tilliiii · 27/12/2018 01:05

Some people do. It's up to you to do your own research and then decide what is right.

bathtimesanity · 27/12/2018 01:05

@Karenspolos best answer! Xmas WinkXmas Grin

Cherries101 · 27/12/2018 01:09

All it would take is a tourist carrying a virus getting into contact with your child and bang. Your child is either dead, disabled, or has their growth stunted. If you want to risk that, go ahead.

Saku · 27/12/2018 01:16

Thanks all for replying..
I have also read many nasty stuff in these vaccines and their side effects..
but not very sure what to do .. I am scared too..as same as some of you suggested.
but I read even vaccinated for same illness people are still getting "The" illness or even becoming more prone to that disease. So very confused.

Therefore I am looking for people experiences who have practically done it for them or for their children.. to get some picture or truly said to gain some confidence.

Read this from babycenter OP

www.babycenter.com/0_5-reasons-you-might-get-a-disease-youre-vaccinated-against_10338720.bc

Karenspolos · 27/12/2018 01:19

Your posts are exactly why we have rigorous testing and trials of medicines and vaccines. And that’s where your research should focus, not on asking random internet people what their wholly statistically irrelevant experiences are. FFS.

OP go and read Bad Science. Or google “critical appraisal.”

Terfing · 27/12/2018 01:20

@Saku

Even if vaccines did have bad side effects (which they mostly don't), they would still be better than the alternative (a painful and preventable death)

Nightmanagerfan · 27/12/2018 01:20

Where are you reading this stuff online? Many anti Vax info comes from people who have been discredited and are not credible. If you’re reading stuff about there being chemicals in vaccines there are chemicals in everything including food, and the amounts are not harmful to health. Unlike the illnesses which will be awful and can result in deafness, disabilities, infertility or death.

Cherries101 · 27/12/2018 01:20

Vaccinated kids get milder versions of illness. They don’t drop dead like unvaccinated kids could.

Nightmanagerfan · 27/12/2018 01:20

Another recommendation for Bad Science by Ben Goldacre.

RCohle · 27/12/2018 01:21

The MMR is "only" 97% effective against measles. So it is possible to be vaccinated and still get measles, however clearly in the vast majority of cases it does provide immunity.

The recent increase in cases of measles is due to parents deciding not to vaccinate, not the vaccine suddenly being less effective.

AntiHop · 27/12/2018 01:23

You don't need to do the research as the NHS already has. The risks of being unvaccinated far outweigh the risks from having vaccines. The NHS is short of money - why would they vaccinate evert child in the country if it wasn't already proven to be best for them?

BruceAndNosh · 27/12/2018 01:30

30 minutes on Google is not "research"

Does any one ditched vaccines completely?
ErrolTheDragon · 27/12/2018 01:33

It's up to you to do your own research

Don't be daft, that's what we have highly trained scientists and doctors for. By all means read up about the subject, but always be careful to assess the validity of the source. Bruce's post has it about right.

starzig · 27/12/2018 01:37

If in doubt, ask your doctor. He is qualified in such things. Don't ask mumsnet, Facebook, Google and such the like.

PS. They will probably tell you to vaccinate.

gingerandsmall · 27/12/2018 01:44

Agree with pp. Read Bad Science

Saku · 27/12/2018 01:48

I dont know whats wrong in asking question and why some people seem angry.
yes I am not behind any supernatural thing or miracle ..
The information source is obviously via internet and google.. thats why I am looking for real people who have done it.

And the 'trust worthy' scientific research is also changing their "Say" every 5 or 10 years...

as for Diabetes they (every big trust worthy media) said 'statin' is "SAFE".. but after 10 years they say 'statin' developed heart diseases and heart attacks.
some times back they said coconut oil is divine.. and now they are saying it is similar to poison.

My purpose here is not to overrule any thought or option. I appreciate your thought and reply. But still I am searching any one .. any one who have done it in UK????
is there a single one.. any?

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 27/12/2018 01:51

Yeah. My mother did.

I almost died of whopping cough when I was 5, had serious complications with measles when I was 15 and caught mumps at 28 and am now deaf in one ear and in a wheelchair. Specialists think that the mumps brought on a chronic illness.

Not vaccinating children is fucking selfish.

MrsDeltaB · 27/12/2018 01:58

If the possible side effects of vaccine were growing an extra head, 7 toes or anything similar I'd still vaccinate rather than have a ill child who could then potentially die.

If we have any power as parents, even with a risk, surely we'd choose the risk?

Saku · 27/12/2018 01:59

Sorry to hear..WhyDontYouComeOnOver what is your age now? your experience is really bad.
