I have an appointment for the GP on Friday but I'm just beginning to feel more worried. Should I wait until Friday or go to A&E?

I'm glad your DD is getting the help she needs OP. Fingers crossed for a full and speedy recovery. Flowers

I am also disgusted with the posters advising against A&E based on a couple of photos. DS had a swollen eye last year. I took him to the walk in centre for anti-biotics (assuming it was conjunctivitis) They took one look and sent us to A&E to get checked out for orbital cellulitis. Luckily it was just a case of conjunctivitis but the seriousness with which this was treated by everyone that saw DS really drove it home that you don't piss about when your child has a swollen eye.
Orbital cellulitis is incredibly dangerous and it absolutely not hysterical to suggest a trip to A&E if it's suspected.

I'm not being flippant but those who couldn't see any difference in the child's eyes maybe need their eyes tested.

Rinkidink · 13/09/2017 14:59

I agree Strong. It was bleeding obvious which eye OP was concerned about and it was immediately apparent what was different about it! Am flabbergasted at posters who couldnt tell

dementedpixie · 13/09/2017 15:03

In the first picture it could have been the lighting that made them look different and the mask didn't help either. The difference was much more obvious in the second picture. Hope you get some answers soon OP

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/09/2017 15:05

Be flabberghasted all you like, when you're looking on a phone it isn't so obvious especially when the OP didn't explain what the issue is in the OP.

Rachie1986 · 13/09/2017 15:07

Hope you get it checked quickly and all is ok x

TurquoiseChevrotain · 15/09/2017 12:46

I'm so glad that you got her checked! Some of these replies are just dangerous Shock how is she? Flowers

Rinkidink · 18/09/2017 15:25

Hi OP. How is your DD? Hope she has been seen by specialists by now.

MouseLandlady · 26/09/2017 23:07

I've been thinking about your DD. Hope she's ok x

Optometrist here. I didn't see this post when it popped up first but if I had, I would have said A&E straight away.

ANY change in a child's eye needs immediate attention. If this is retinoblastoma it is sight and life threatening if not caught on time but if it is caught on time, the outcome is usually very good.

Amanda, glad your gorgeous girl is getting looked after and wishing her the very best.

How is your little one? Hope all is ok for you...
