Should I take daughter to A&E? What's wrong with her eye? (pic)

I have an appointment for the GP on Friday but I'm just beginning to feel more worried. Should I wait until Friday or go to A&E?

Yes, I am going to try and get a clearer pic

Try your GP first is my advice.

Schmoochypoos · 11/09/2017 17:58

I can see that her left eye is much much darker

Fekko · 11/09/2017 17:58

Is it the colour or the pupil though? Eye colour can differ quite a bit between eyes. Has is happened suddenly?

Sorry but it's hard to see on photos.

KatosSlipper · 11/09/2017 17:59

Ignore that, just seen you're seeing GP Friday. I wouldn't say this is a medical emergency.

dementedpixie · 11/09/2017 17:59

You can have 2 completely different coloured irises without it being a problem

Pigoon · 11/09/2017 17:59

Has it always been like this or a sudden change?

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 11/09/2017 17:59

Yes I can see it OP

sparksamanda · 11/09/2017 17:59

I'm talking bout her pupil too, why is it different?

I am getting a clearer pic

dementedpixie · 11/09/2017 17:59

Had it always been like that?

sparksamanda · 11/09/2017 18:00

It definitely hasn't always been like this

phoenix1973 · 11/09/2017 18:00

I see it OP.
Definitely go opticians or doctor whoever can see her soonest.
Doesnt look right. Hope its ok x x

Auntiedahlia · 11/09/2017 18:01

An optician will be able to take a look at the back of the eye and give you a referral if necessary.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 11/09/2017 18:01

And as I said before, based on personal experience, it is worth visiting an optician if they can see you before the gp can. Certainly can't hurt.

PostNotInHaste · 11/09/2017 18:01

I think maybe the pupils are not dilating uniformly, my DD has this in low light levels. She's been thoroughly checked out and it's fine.

I'd get her to optician tomorrow and as others have said they will refer you if they think she needs to be seen.

Gooseberrytart4 · 11/09/2017 18:02

How long has it been like this?

Ring your local opticians today/tomorrow first thing

TheEmmaDilemma · 11/09/2017 18:03

OP, I see a difference and personally I'd be going to the local walk in. If there isn't a late opening one possibly A&E just be sure. That looks swollen and a totally different eye than the other.

When did it start?

Fekko · 11/09/2017 18:03

So - it's the colour and size of pupil? Could you take her to the optician tomorrow and sit it out for an appppintment? A doctor can only have a general peek but an optician has better equipment and can refer you pronto if they see something they don't like the look of.

I'm sure it's fine but you need to make sure.

Moodycoo · 11/09/2017 18:03

Opticians for ANY eye concerns. They are able to refer on the same way a GP can and have the specialised equipment, training and expertise to deal with eyes issues.

Gooseberrytart4 · 11/09/2017 18:04

Optician will be far more knowledgable then GP

goodeggsarehardtocatch · 11/09/2017 18:04

Op I'm going to tell you straight, doctors have no clue on eyes. They get a 3-4 day rotation go to an optician although my gut on this is A&E is the right call rather than waiting for people on the internet to advise you. Now please let us know how you got on.

Nb if it turns out to be lighting, so what the dr's will be happier than you are to be able to say so and get a cute baby cuddle !! Now get thee to A&E

HeyRoly · 11/09/2017 18:05

This really isn't appropriate for A&E.

dementedpixie · 11/09/2017 18:05

Has it been like that for a wee while? If so I don't think A&E is warranted

dementedpixie · 11/09/2017 18:06

Why a&e if you just said doctors know nothing about eyes?

goodeggsarehardtocatch · 11/09/2017 18:07

Heyroly. Are you prepared to stake your presumably qualified licence on that ? From a pic ? Because I certainly won't ! A&E is safe
