I have an appointment for the GP on Friday but I'm just beginning to feel more worried. Should I wait until Friday or go to A&E?

I'm hoping op has listen to those of us saying A&E and is being seen.

Frazzled2207 · 11/09/2017 22:46

Hope you're ok. Manchester also has a great eye hospital.

TheresSomebodyAtTheDoor · 11/09/2017 23:34

Thinking of you OP Flowers

Please update us when you can. Hope you both get good sleep tonight.

Hi everyone I feel all kinds of emotion right now. I knew something wasn't right and needed looking into... Then thought I was being dramatic and when a few people began saying to go, I thought I would. We went to an eye clinic place and I am so glad we did because they have a special eye department and the eye department said that if we hadn't gone to them, it can be a 2 week referral even for emergency to see a specialist. They did a red test thing (sorry I cannot remember all the names) and and said they had some concerns about that so we had to wait to see the ophthalmologist I believe who did that some more times and some eye drop thing and some other tests. He then said that he would make an urgent referral to be seen by the retinoblastoma team within a week. She is going to need an operation so they can check the eyes properly :(

I just can't believe any of this, I only posted on here because I saw there was a children's health section!! It's been a very long night and I'm just heading to bed. Thanks everyone

So glad you were seen promptly and things are being dealt with.

All the best.

FinallyDecidedOnUserName · 12/09/2017 03:23

Glad you were seen x

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 12/09/2017 03:50

Hi OP, I'm glad you followed your instinct and got your dd seen, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious.

You always get bloody idiots on these threads with their competitive laid backness trying to make you feel like a huge drama llama for being concerned and wanting to attend emergency, but as very often happens, and has happened on this occasion they end up with egg on their faces.

If you feel up to it, let us know how your dd goes.

Ps. Hi 👋🏻 @stillvicarinatutu, you probably won't remember me, but just wanted to say long time no see, and I hope you are well Smile

blueskyinmarch · 12/09/2017 05:15

I am glad she has been seen and your DD has been referred on.

Oakmaiden · 12/09/2017 05:40

Hope they rule anything nasty out quickly. Very worrying for you in the meantime, look after yourself xxx

feathermucker · 12/09/2017 05:54

Bless you OP. How incredibly frightening for you.

Hope things will be ok Flowers

Ropsleybunny · 12/09/2017 06:03

💐💐💐

You did the right thing OP. I would urge anyone who is worried about a DC to seek medical advice. Listen to your own instincts, they are usually right.

i hope all is ok.

AnyFucker · 12/09/2017 06:25

Thank God x

OpalIridescence · 12/09/2017 06:27

What a long night for you and your daughter.
I'm really sorry you are having to go through this, it must be frightening.

Well done for getting help for your daughter so quickly, whatever the diagnosis, the speed she has been seen with is a positive thing.

Hope you managed to get some sleep and all turns out to be well Flowers

BrutusMcDogface · 12/09/2017 06:28

goodeggsarehardtocatch · 12/09/2017 07:22

lavenderbees · 12/09/2017 07:26

Well done OP. All the best with your Dd.

namechangedforthisreply · 12/09/2017 07:33

OP I'm glad you followed your instinct & got your DD checked out. I really hope she's ok Flowers

frogsoup · 12/09/2017 07:35

Yet another thread where I hope the blethering fools who say 'don't be ridiculous not a&e' feel like the idiots that they are. If you have no specific medical knowledge or experience, why the hell post on a thread like this? You realise you could actually cause serious harm to someone if they take your advice?!

frogsoup · 12/09/2017 07:35

Flowers to op
