Currently in hospital since last night with DS who is 3. Scans show masses on his brain. Drs believe them to be tumours, likely to have come from his abdomen.

Waiting for more scans/tests etc. staff are being overly nice to us which is worrying me more (though they did refer us to social services last night as they thought DH or I had fractured DS' skull.

Feel incredibly sick. He is 3 years old. Please hold my hand.

What a sweet little face he has. He is just beautiful. I can only begin to imagine how you must be feeling. I am so, so sorry that you have to go through this.

You sound like a wonderful, loving mummy and you have no reason to beat yourself up. There is no way in this world that you could have anticipated this.

I am praying for you all. I hope you get some sleep.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I'm right at the other end of the country unfortunately so not much help on a practical level, but will be thinking of you all and praying that the prognosis is as encouraging as possible under the circumstances.

Lots of handholding and strength here. Hope you can all get some sleep tonight x

StopEatingThatMud · 02/10/2012 23:11

Oh Trazzle...

I don't know you but want to offer another hand to hold.

As others have said the nearest to advice I can offer is to take one moment at a time and concentrate on the present, not the past, as best you can. I've no direct childhood cancer experience, just time in hospital with DD.

We were provided free on site accommodation by the Sick Childrens Trust during our stay, in a communal house. Do you have access to anywhere to stay? The pull down beds on the wards in the hospitals we experienced aren't conducive in any way to rest and whilst you must be running on adrenaline at the moment there must come a time when that will run out. I don't think SCT have anything in the area but if you were comfortable with naming the hospital I'd be happy to take a look into if anything else that might be available if you don't have the time/energy/inclination.

Sending you every best wish and positive thought.

Lilka · 02/10/2012 23:13

What a handsome little man he is

Still thinking of you all x

perfumedlife · 02/10/2012 23:13

This is strange. I've been so busy all day but couldn't stop thinking about your wee boy and just saw his picture and he is exactly as I was imagining him today. Exactly the image I had in my head of this wee warrior. And he will fight this.

Praying so hard for him x

skyebluesapphire · 02/10/2012 23:15
