Currently in hospital since last night with DS who is 3. Scans show masses on his brain. Drs believe them to be tumours, likely to have come from his abdomen.

Waiting for more scans/tests etc. staff are being overly nice to us which is worrying me more (though they did refer us to social services last night as they thought DH or I had fractured DS' skull.

Feel incredibly sick. He is 3 years old. Please hold my hand.

Thanks for the info re: flu jabs. I'm calling the GP tomorrow - we're already on it. DD has to have a chickenpox jab too. Poor lamb.

DS did NOT appreciate having a plastic tube stuck up his nose. Lucky me, he decided that Mummy was the person to accompany him for the procedure. I don't think me holding his hand and sobbing my eyes out did too much for him. Perhaps he'll pick Daddy next time.

Still, they've left the feeding for tonight to let him settle a bit as he keeps trying to pull it out, but will start tomorrow.

Chemo has started ok, I think.

The Drs found cancer cells in his bone marrow and also in his arm and leg bones. Nothing unexpected. Must remember to ask whether this means he's going to have weak bones afterwards.

He's had a horrific tummy this afternoon. Very much hoping that it is a reaction to the antibiotics rather than anything more sinister, but good God I hope this doesn't happen every 10 days. Poor lamb was getting very distressed by the sheer volume of mess everywhere.

Anyway, must dash as am off to bed. Sleep well. Thanks for the support xxx see you on the new thread!

Sorry to hear about the extra cancer cells they've found and hope that the chemo does for them as well. Will he be having radiotherapy on any areas, do you know?

Sounds like you're really going through the mill just now but hopefully things will settle down a bit and the NG tube should help with keeping weight on him and getting the foul medicines down at least.

Yes to radiotherapy provided everything works til then. Extra cancer is a bit meh. Apparently, what's important is not how far the cancer has spread but whether his cancer responds to treatment.

He could be 95% cancer but still have a better chance than someone with 5 very resistant cells IYSWIM. Am hoping his cancer is a total pansy and not like, say, jean Claude van damme...

Hi Trazzles - sorry the news wasn't better but your talk about Jean Claude Van Damme made me wonder what the opposite would be - the Napoleon Dynamite of cancer cells perhaps?!

Hope your little man is more settled with tube tomorrow and chemo goes well. Glad the flu jab info was useful.
