Currently in hospital since last night with DS who is 3. Scans show masses on his brain. Drs believe them to be tumours, likely to have come from his abdomen.

Waiting for more scans/tests etc. staff are being overly nice to us which is worrying me more (though they did refer us to social services last night as they thought DH or I had fractured DS' skull.

Feel incredibly sick. He is 3 years old. Please hold my hand.

You sound so strong and so brave. I'm sure I would have fallen to pieces by now.
He's only 3, his body is still developing, let's hope that they can offer an alternative explanation or that they can successfully operate and his little body can fight back against it.

The Macmillan website has information on brain tumours in children, it's the most common type of tumour in children so I hope that means that they have developed effective treatment for it. They may not be cancerous at this stage, let's hope not. It also states that children have a better outlook than adults.

You can ring the Macmillan team if you have questions or just want a chat on 0808 808 00 00. They will provide support to you and your family whilst you are going through this.

If there is anything we can do to help please let us know x

Trazzletoes you don't know me, but couldn't read and run. Another pair of hands reaching out for you to hold. Thinking of you all and praying the results of the scan are better news than you are anticipating. xx

Thinking of you and your ds today. I really hope can do something for your son (I have cancer myself and know that even the worst news can usually be helped in someway ).

When and if you feel like you need it, there is a support thread for parents with cancer link

Thinking of you, this must be so tough.

If they are brain tumours I know a little boy who has made a wonderful recovery from a large one he had as a toddler. I hope you get positive news.
