Currently in hospital since last night with DS who is 3. Scans show masses on his brain. Drs believe them to be tumours, likely to have come from his abdomen.

Waiting for more scans/tests etc. staff are being overly nice to us which is worrying me more (though they did refer us to social services last night as they thought DH or I had fractured DS' skull.

Feel incredibly sick. He is 3 years old. Please hold my hand.

Bit of a lurker and rarely post but have been following your story and can't stop thinking about you and your family. Another splodge in Glasgow. Your beautiful brave boy will get better. Love x

BustersOfDoom · 05/10/2012 21:39

Hope his treatment goes well, I've been thinking about you all lots today and sending love and positive thoughts. Sounds woo but I don't care. The neuro and oncology team at LGI are the best. My DS now 25 (8 when he was diagnosed) is testament to that. He is still on annual check ups and they are just brilliant.

And as hard as it is and as much as you will concentrate on looking after your beautiful boy please remember to look after yourself. It's easy to forget that you need to eat and sleep when you are in this situation. And as I said before PM me if you need anything x

NorksAreMessy · 05/10/2012 21:39

Just read your thread Trazzle, your boy is gorgeous and a big beam of light heading your way from Adelaide, Australia. It can keep you supported over night whilst the uk lights snooze.

bootus · 06/10/2012 07:28

Am a rare poster but just wanted to say your little guy is in my thoughts and prayers too. I'm sure he will astound you with his fighting spirit. And look after yourself.

thewhistler · 06/10/2012 08:06

Knackering for you but great that Ds is behaving very normally, and intelligently, after all, who wouldn't want to go hone from hospital at 3am? Sensible boy.

Now to make his and your room your home from home for the 80 days.

Thinking of 80 days, 80 days till Christmas as another poster has said; around the world in 80 days. Can you get two large maps, one of great Britain and one of the world, and plant yellow stickers with him on where the Splodges are?

Charts till Christmas, charts till out of hospital, though that might be trickier, advent calendars, possibly a DM or MIL could make a sort of hospital advent calendar, with something to open every day.

Fuzzy felt is a brilliant game at this age. Even if the bits get lost, they don't hurt. I spent lots of my childhood in bed doing them in different ways.

And drawing. I drew all the evil bugs that were attacking me. It was fun. Some had real names, some had made up names. When I was feeling worst we made up the name, and when I was up to it I drew it. My DM was brilliant.

I loved the Richard Scary books and could gaze at them, fuzzy felt like, for ages. You didn't have to concentrate as on a story.

And thank god for hospital tv.

Hugs and support from London Splodge.

Trazzles - following your thread and thinking of you often. I hope you are not too shattered after your 3 a.m. attempted self discharge - bless him x

BarmeeMarmee · 06/10/2012 08:57

Trazzle I was up at 3 am and came on here to see if there were any more updates, so always know that there are splodge a of light shining for you constantly, day or night and even at 3am when it probably seems the rest of the world is sleeping people are thinking of you. Great ideas from thewhistler.
