Currently in hospital since last night with DS who is 3. Scans show masses on his brain. Drs believe them to be tumours, likely to have come from his abdomen.

Waiting for more scans/tests etc. staff are being overly nice to us which is worrying me more (though they did refer us to social services last night as they thought DH or I had fractured DS' skull.

Feel incredibly sick. He is 3 years old. Please hold my hand.

Trazzle, I hope he has had his MRI now and I wish you all lots of strength for tomorrow, hope all is as uneventful as can be with such things.

How is your little boy coping so far, does he understand a little what is going on? I hope your hospital got play specialists to help to distract him when necessary.

In the meantime, take care of yourself and your little dd, it must be all a shock for her as well, little as she is.

I am not close, but if there is anything I can do I would love to help, I have pm-ed you.

Hi I've been following your thread with tears running down my face. I had a DS who is four so not too much older than your beautiful boy.

So another splodge (and prayers) from Sheffield.

Don't know where you are in Yorkshire but I can drive easily so please if there is anything I can do to help I will do it. DVDs, toys, non hospital food - just pm me.

InVeryveryBadTaste · 04/10/2012 22:24

oh I'm sorry today hasnt gone smoothly - makes it all harder i think when the scheduled tests etc dont happen as planned. Its at times like this when you need answers and predictability most. And your poor ds spending all day hungry - i think its things like this that make us feel so helpless - you know - its our daily job as mummy to feed our dc and make sure they are not hungry. Sorry Blush not explaining that very well am i?
Hope today managed to give you all some answers and that you now get some sleep ready for tomorrow.
Anyway - light shining here in the far north west of Scotland - shining on and on and on and on.

Clangerwoo · 04/10/2012 22:25

PopOozeTheFastest · 04/10/2012 22:48

Have only just found this thread so am adding my love and prayers for you & your family from South Staffordshire.

Your DS is absolutely beautiful and I am unspeakably sorry that you are all going through this nightmare. Are you willing to share your DS' name with us?

Trazzletoes · 04/10/2012 22:51

I love you guys.

Thank you for the accommodation suggestions. Actually we are in the extremely fortunate position that the hospital where he is being treated is our local hospital. It's less than half an hour in the car so DH and I can alternate nights at the moment and also enjoy a bit of quality time with DD.

Damn those sofa beds are the most uncomfortable beds in the world! Still, I'd sleep on nails for him.

Sending a prayer and a splodge of light from Manchester

lisad123 · 04/10/2012 22:55

Can you get a friend to help sort out meal deliveries ect? We had a group of friends do this and was the most helpful thing we had. You must make sure you all eat and sleep (easier said than done)
Also ask for carpark passes. Most hospitals do this and I know with our hospital they would write a letter and we got 3 months parking for £30, which was another thing.
