Currently in hospital since last night with DS who is 3. Scans show masses on his brain. Drs believe them to be tumours, likely to have come from his abdomen.

Waiting for more scans/tests etc. staff are being overly nice to us which is worrying me more (though they did refer us to social services last night as they thought DH or I had fractured DS' skull.

Feel incredibly sick. He is 3 years old. Please hold my hand.

And one from Hertfordshie xxx

LookBehindYou · 04/10/2012 19:26

Great to get an update. This light from Brussls will keep on shining. Praying for you all.

HairyMaclary · 04/10/2012 19:26

Trazzle - he may well be hungry, both my DSes have eaten within minutes of coming round from a GA, especially a light one like the one for MRI's. In fact for those and small ops I take a packed lunch with me as they always want to eat before the nurses have time to make anything for them. We always check with the staff first though to make sure they can eat. I've ben through many GAs with my two!

Good luck for the future journey, it's such a shock for you all.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 04/10/2012 19:29

I put away a round of sandwiches within a couple of hours of full GA last week.

NeDeLaMer · 04/10/2012 19:29

Thanks for the update. Poor little love, what a miserable day :(

I'd have some lovely things waiting for him, he might surprise you with what he fancies to eat and anything's better than nothing, even MaccyD's!

That's a long time to wait for the results :(

NeDeLaMer · 04/10/2012 19:30

Oh, sorry, my splodge isn't anywhere exotic - just in Hampshire, but it's shining brightly for you x

Bluestocking · 04/10/2012 19:33

A light shining for you in South Devon. So sorry you are going through this. All the positive vibes I can muster are coming your way.

josie81 · 04/10/2012 19:36

Sending a light across the pennines from Manchester. Your little boy is just gorgeous and will be in my thoughts, as will you and all your family. I hope that you'll continue to draw strength from knowing that so many people are hoping and wishing with you.

Trazzletoes · 04/10/2012 19:41

at whoknows. Just me that feels sick after anaesthetics then Grin.

They brought round the snack tray this morning so I emptied it in to his little gruffalo rucksack. There are biscuits and all sorts of nice stuff in there.

This splodge comes from Barry, home of Gavin and Stacey and just West of Cardiff.

Really hope that you ds is heading off for his MRI very soon.

calypso2008 · 04/10/2012 19:46

Splodge of light from Valencia, I have been thinking about you and your beautiful son all day.

FlibberdeGibbet · 04/10/2012 19:49

Light from Leeds here.... good luck; hugs and Thanks

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 04/10/2012 19:49

I don't have a particularly strong stomach, but the anti- nausea drugs help a lot.

Spirael · 04/10/2012 19:52

I'm only a few minutes away, so remember if you need anything you just need to ask! :) I can easily do food runs to the hospital at lunchtime if there's anything you/DS fancy.

I had a GA and an operation when I was 4. My only real memory is being incredibly hungry afterwards and it taking ages for food to arrive! So your DS may well have an appetite.

Keeping everything crossed for you all here. xx

Four4me · 04/10/2012 19:58

Have just seen your thread and your photos of ds, he sure is a cutee.

I will be thinking or you all and as others have said if you are anywhere near me (between Harrogate and York) I'm happy to help.

breadandhoney · 04/10/2012 20:00

Ive just found this thread. I am so sorry to hear that your son and your whole family are going through this. Life can be so cruel at times.

My thoughts and prayers are very much with your beautiful little boy and all of your family. Praying for strength for you in particular, as there is no one more important in your little boys life than his mummy. And you sound like a wonderful one.

A bright light of support shining for you here in NI.

KinkyAllTooOrangeDorito · 04/10/2012 20:04

Thinking of you all still x

madwomanintheattic · 04/10/2012 20:08

They like them to eat as soon as possible after GA, so do try and encourage him to eat (or get dh to), especially as he's going to be nil by mouth again after midnight. Even if he doesn't feel like it. Dd2 is always hungry when she comes round. Has he got some of his favorite juice available? Dd2 always hates the hospital stuff, so I always take my own now, as I know she will drink it.

Hang on in there through the information gathering stuff x

desertgirl · 04/10/2012 20:10

thinking of you all, and another splodge of light shining for you in Dubai x

DawnOfTheDee · 04/10/2012 20:13

Trazzle I've only just seen this thread now...I'm so sorry you gorgeous little boy is so poorly.

As you know i'm in Leeds. At the moment recovering from an op myself (I'm fine just can't move around much) but i should be on my feet in the next fortnight or so.

I'm happy to help in anyway I can. If you need food runs to the hospital or would like some visitors or to meet up or anything - just pm me and I'll do my absolute best to help.

Thinking of you xxx

SarahJinx · 04/10/2012 20:14
