The 13-Storey Treehouse is the first book in the completely addictive Treehouse series, written by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton. Five books later and this series has readers completely hooked by its hilarious adventures and cracking cartoon-style illustrations.

The 65-Storey Treehouse is the fifth book of wacky treehouse tales. Andy and Terry's amazing 65-Storey Treehouse now has a pet-grooming salon, a room where it's always your birthday (even when it's not), a lollipop shop, a quicksand pit, an ant farm, a time machine and Tree-NN: a 24-hour-a-day TV news centre keeping you up to date with all the latest treehouse news, current events and gossip. Well, what are you waiting for? Come on up!

Find out more about the series

To be in with a chance of winning £100 worth of books for 6 - 12-year-olds including a full set of Treehouse books, just tell us - what series do your children love to read and why?

My severely dyslexic child absolutely loves Spy Dog, Spy Pups, Spy Cats. They are fun, engaging, suspense, have a villain, adorable but clever animals. We both love them!

My grandson enjoys the David Walliams books.

Bellroyd · 11/09/2016 09:37

Swallows and Amazon series by Arthur Ransome - good clean wholesome outdoor fun - appeals to them and to me

Tenpastlate · 11/09/2016 09:47

7 yr old loves Daisy and the Trouble With... series by Kes Gray, and My Brother's Famous Bottom series by Jeremy Strong.
11 yr old loves Diary of a Wompy Kid, Dork Diaries, David Walliams' books and Tom Gates.
All for the humour, they both read to wind down at bedtime, and humourous books work for them Smile

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

My kids love reading the Roahl Dahl collection they are studying the ooks as part of their curriculum this year.

jamielmdjs · 11/09/2016 12:33

The boys love Diary of a wimpy kid. They love the adventures and find it funny.

TiggersAngel7774 · 11/09/2016 13:50

he likes to read with Dad the Harry Potter books

worriedmum46 · 11/09/2016 14:05

My daughter loved The Diary of a Wimpy kid series and now loves the Animal Ark series. She loves animals and the stories are always safe and have happy endings. She does not like stories with bad people or danger in them. Whilst these are not the most challenging books they have been brilliant to develop her love of reading.

my little one loves the horrid henry books

Dessallara · 11/09/2016 20:51

Harry Potter :)

slbhill42 · 11/09/2016 21:48

my wee boy is still mad keen on Thomas the Tank Engine, family of train fanatics here so he didn't have much choice ;-)

Leserlee · 11/09/2016 22:12

My grandson loves diary of a wimpy kid

leccybill · 11/09/2016 22:14

I have a 6yo DD who loves Horrid Henry early reader chapter books and the ubiquitous Rainbow Magic.

She still can't resist sneaking a read of the Gruffalo or Bear Hunt though.

firawla · 11/09/2016 22:18

Harry Potter is the absolute favourite. Narnia was also popular with my kids, and Enid blyton particularly the naughtiest girl in school. Younger ones also enjoyed magic tree house, dr kitty cat and dragon masters series

insan1tyscartching · 11/09/2016 22:38

Dd2 inherited dd1's Charmed book series. They were the first books that gripped dd1 so much so we had to buy each new one on the day it was released. Dd2 is enjoying them too.

insan1tyscartching · 11/09/2016 22:40

Dd1 hated the Angus Thongs and Secret Snogging series but dd2 has read them all with a passion.

SorchaMumsnet · 13/09/2016 17:22

Thanks for all your answers - they've made me create my own list... So many to choose from but both the Alex Rider and Georgia Nicholson series are definitely up there! The competition is now closed and the winner has been notified

My son Charlie, hated reading with a passion until he discovered the Jeremy Strong collection and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, he now reads most night before bed and enjoys the stories

We are always looking for new authors/books to inspire him and give him the love of reading that we all have :-)

My 7yr old loves the Roman mysteries series, and beast quest. He’s been reading just William and Malory Towers as well which go down brilliantly

muttleydosomething · 21/11/2017 14:11

My 6yo son loves the following:
Captain Underpants
Roald Dahl
Ottoline books by Chris Riddell
le Petit Nicolas
Winnie the Witch

Can't do the Enid Blyton adventure books yet, as he doesn't like the bad guys and the suspense...
