The 13-Storey Treehouse is the first book in the completely addictive Treehouse series, written by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton. Five books later and this series has readers completely hooked by its hilarious adventures and cracking cartoon-style illustrations.

The 65-Storey Treehouse is the fifth book of wacky treehouse tales. Andy and Terry's amazing 65-Storey Treehouse now has a pet-grooming salon, a room where it's always your birthday (even when it's not), a lollipop shop, a quicksand pit, an ant farm, a time machine and Tree-NN: a 24-hour-a-day TV news centre keeping you up to date with all the latest treehouse news, current events and gossip. Well, what are you waiting for? Come on up!

DS is 8.5 and has read the 13 Storey Treehouse, loved it and has been asking for the rest of the series, so he'd be thrilled to win this!

The only reason I haven't already bought it is that he was working his was through Diary of the Wimpey Kid (now finished), as well as all the Famous Five books. We're reading the Harry Potter books together too.

My elder son like to combine a love of history with a thirst for adventure - and the Caroline Lawrence Roman Mysteries series has filled this perfectly. We recently visited Rome and he was busy telling the guide about the eruption of Vesuvius and life as a Roman slave!!
My younger loves adventure and animals - his current favourites are the Lauren St John African series - his latest wish is to ride his own white giraffe!!
Both boys love the excitement that is in a series of books, waiting to see what will happen next and the opportunity to really expand characters, I hope this will help them develop a love of reading for life!!

My DDs have both really enjoyed the Fairytale Hairdresser series. Now DD1 has turned 6 she's enjoying a great variety of books - she's loved the Seriously Silly Stories by Laurence Anholt which re-tell the best loved fairytale stories in a humourous and slightly twisted way!

Ds1 is like me in that he finds an author he likes and reads them all z (but not any of the series I love eg Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia and Roald Dahl to name a few). All the Beast Quest and Sea Quest books by Adam Blade have been read ,anything Rick Riordan or Tom Gates gets bought and Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Timmy Failure appear too. Ds2 isn't such a bookworm yet but is enjoying the Diary of a Wimpy Kid ones. I think I'll order one of these, they sound like they'll appeal to his mad imagination (and mine as my favourite book as The Magic Faraway Tree), he's always going 'imagine if..', honestly if that boy would write, he could write!

My son loves the Flat Stanley series - it's one I remember reading & enjoying as a child, so it makes it extra special! I'm trying to get him into other collections I enjoyed - The Little Vampire series (my absolute favourite!), Simon & the Witch, &, of course, Harry Potter.
Reading gives me such pleasure & I've wanted to share that with my son from day 1. Fortunately, he seems to be inheriting my love of books & reading & we enjoy weekly trips to the library to keep it interesting!

My 7-year-old daughter loves Enid Blyton's "Famous Five" series! I collected all 21 books when I was young, and we're gradually working through them together.

She also loves the recent excellent "Dixie O'Day" series, by Shirley Hughes and Clara Vulliamy, and she likes the "Daisy and the Trouble With..." books, the "Claude" books and the "Magic Faraway Tree" series.

My 3-year-old son loves Shirley Hughes' Alfie series; Clara Vulliamy's Lucky Wishmouse series and Martha and the Bunny Brothers series; the Ahlbergs' Funny Bones books; and Percy the Parkkeeper. Oh, and anything featuring builders, diggers, tractors or Lego Star Wars that he finds at the library!

My 8year old's top 5 series currently are (in her own words):
1.By Shannon Hale & Suzanne Selfors: Ever After High. I like this series because you get more information about the characters
and their personalities than when you watch the videos.

2.By Tarmara Macfarlane: Amazing Esme. I can always imagine living in a exciting circus when I read the books.

  1. By Cornelia Funke:C.H.I.X . I like it when the C.H.I.X girls play funny tricks on the Piranha boys.

  1. By Sally Gardener:Wings & Co. She is a really imaginative writer with tall cats and silly talking bunnies!

  1. By Catherine Wilkins: My Best Friend and Other Enemies. I love the cool drawings and crazy names of the gangs of the girls at the school.

I think the funnest character is Tanya because she tells funny jokes.

Enid Blyton - Malory Towers and the naughtiest girl have gone down really well but she is currently hooked on Shrinking Violet. The utter silliness of it seems to strike a chord with her.
