To celebrate the publication of George & the Noisy Baby, we're working with Ladybird Books to find out which books you read to your children to help send them to sleep.

Share your favourites on this thread and one lucky participant will receive a whole bundle of Peppa Pig storybooks and other exciting goodies. There are also ten copies of George & the Noisy Baby for the runners up.

To enter our competition, just write in and let us know which books you read your DCs when bedtime has gone awry. We want to hear about classic storybooks and new finds – does ‘Goodnight Moon’ work for your baby, or is ‘Go The F* To Sleep’ more their thing? Dd loves her bedtime stories and stories in general.

At the moment she loves charlie and lola stories, the very hungery caterpillar, the owl and the pussy cat and I'm not cute!

Reading certainly doesn't get her to sleep but is an important part of her bedtime routine. As is mummy sitting in the big chair listening to music until she gives into sleep.

Goodnight Moon is a definite favourite for my son - it always seems to calm him down and get him in the mood for bedtime. He also loves Guess How Much I Love You and We're Going on a Bear Hunt.

We're currently working our way through Roald Dahl's collection. When we are finished with that we are going to try Stig of the Dump for DS (6).

DD (19 months) listens to anything at the moment.

I got How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers last week which has been a great bedtime hit for both boys 4 and 2.

DD doesnt fall asleep to stories at the minute but she loves reading and being read to. Last night we read Winnie the Pooh's 123 book after her bath and she also loves the gruffalo.

She loves Peppa Pig and her favourite Peppa book is How Big which we have read hundreds of times!

DD has just turned 2 and she loves Peepo and A Kitten Called Moonlight for bedtime at the moment. We have just got some Peppa books from the library so will be giving those a go this evening. DS who is 4 has had 2 Mr Men/Little Miss books at bedtime every night since Christmas!

The runaway bunny is a hit recently but 'pants' is the firm fave of my ds 18mths.

We watch peppa in the morning on my phone for morning snuggles and my mum alleges ds pressed a button to buy ten pounds worth of episodes from amazon but my dad doesnt believe her one bit! We dont have any peppa books yet though.

Both of mine adore 'The Bear Snores On' and I've been known to get other people's to sleep reading it in a whisper - it's very soothing and I'm yawning just thinking about it

My 2 year old loves The Ravenous Beast and Dear Santa.

Dd is nearly 2 and Snow Bears is her favourite for bedtime, at the moment. It was any Mog book for months, so I can recite several of them off by heart (handy for after we turn off the light).

Dd also loves us to make up stories about her. DP does a good one about Peppa & dd going to the moon. Unfortunately, she demanded the moon story last night when it was my turn to get her to bed. This resulted in me rambling about Peppa, Dd, a rocket and Grandpa Pig. It sent Dd to sleep, though (out of boredom, I presume)!

Ds1 loves the guess how much I love you winter book. At the end he will say mummy guess how much I love you and then opens his arms reaaaalllly wide
ds2 is in love with peppas alphabet book.
Hes not talking yet but is attempting to talk after looking through the book.

DS 2 loves Stick Man, The Story of Prince George, and Aliens Love Underpants. He has just turned 3.

DS 1 is 11 now, but he used to love the Little Tiger story I Don't Want to Go to Bed, and Slinky Malinky. :-)

Favourite bedtime stories here are Tiddler, Monkey Puzzle and Stick Man, Peppas Nursery Rhymes though I have to sing that.

We tend to only do one story at bedtime for all three dcs (due to time mostly). Youngest child mostly likes chewing the books, middle loves listening to stories, eldest seems to be growing out of hearing them, though he takes his own books to bed and reads until he falls asleep.

We tend to read stories during the day more now, as it's easier to fit in and I'm not to knackered to answer all their questions!

It depends on who is doing the reading!

If its me then I have to read Baa for Beginners and DD (3) does all the Baas in the appropriate voices. We also have to say "bottom" and giggle in minion style if the word bottom is mentioned (which it is, several times!).

If H is reading then it is In The Town. A very old lift the flaps book that my mum bought from a library sale years ago. There have been stories invented for all of the characters behind the windows, special things said..... rather him than me, he can be up there for ages!

However, both books do get her snuggling down no matter what messing about there has been before hand, so I am ok with that!

ds had a phase of reading "goodnight gorilla" then it was "dear santa" leter duck in the truck which was a blessed relief after the previous two night after night. (it has more rhythm) then he graduated onto biff chip, kipper and floppy books. we have over fifty of them, so there was a littel more variety, now he has added the horrid henry early readers.

I used to buy dd books that are interestingto read. usually rhyming books like who's in the loo? duck in the truck, duck's day out, pants, tiddler. the diary of a wombat, was a massive hit too. screams of laughter.

Mine loves both Owl Babies and Goodnight Moon for bedtime. He also really likes it when I make up a story about his favourite characters like Peppa or Mickey Mouse (or even both!) and them going on a picnic etc and just telling the story quietly in the dark.

DD1 has three stories before bed every night. She loves Whiffy Wilson, The Night Pirates, Mixed-Up Fairy Tales and The Book With No Pictures at the moment, but it has to be different stories each night. I don't think there's anything that really sends her to sleep, but they firm an important part of her sleep routine.
DD2 loves books too, particularly the Maisie board books, but if I read to her before bed she gets too upset when I stop reading, so we only read to her in the daytime at the moment.

My youngest son (aged 1 and a half) loves Each Peach, Pear, Plum as his last book of the evening (he insists on having four of them read to him before he goes to sleep). I've read it so many times I can recite it by heart.

My older 2 boys (aged 6 and nearly 9) love Roald Dahl books, Enid Blyton famous five books and Cressida Cowell's How to Train your Dragon books before bedtime.
