As a mother...

"As a mother..." seems to be how about how just about every opinion expressed to me about the Middle East situation seems to start at the moment.

Same for XL Bully issues, the recent party conferences and every blooming thought that comes out someone's head about the environment.

I feel like I'm in an echo chamber with Andrea Leadsom and it's irritating.

I hope that coming on here to tell people how inferior they are to you made you feel better. Try deploying some of that famous motherly understanding to try and comprehend and have compassion for other people's feelings, why don't you?

I wonder if people who say these kinds of things really believe them and if so if they're just naive or actually dim.

^ there's a lot of mother bashing on here too. Can't we accept there are some things people on all sides of this won't ever understand about the other?

It's not mother-bashing to suggest that someone who says things like "when you become a mother, you become a mother to every child in the world, and you don't care if they're from Israel or Gaza ❤" as if you've just solved a horrific geopolitical conflict that's created a literal genocide... might be a bit bloody silly.

Because they are. And that's the mildest thing I'd describe them as. I could say a lot worse.

But I do think it's curious how beady-eyed newcomers always seem to be able to spot the "mum-bashing", but never tell off any of the parents coming on here and saying vile things to us. Almost as if there's an agenda.

Oh perish the thought, fitzwilliamdarcy 😆Would they be the same beady-eyed newcomers saying 'let's not turn this into a parents versus childfree issue' when until they turned up no-one was doing that?

It's a ridiculous thing to say and it very satisfactorily backfired for Andrea Ledsome!
