The little getaway may be a polite way of asking does it need to be spent on child ie therapy etc... benidorm here she comes lol (jokes obs)

Lol. Yeah, I totally get that. The way its penned just seems a little too good to be true and I've seen it before. I'm on a fb group concerning the rare genetic condition I have. Out of a few hundred people, there's the occasional one that is clearly making things up. Sadly, it does happen. I'm an ex police officer, so maybe I'm more wary of everyone being 100% honest.

Either way, they certainly aren't having the same experience as the rest of us 😆

Hi everyone
Scan date 19/09

I phoned yesterday as I was 18 weeks exactly and they said it was with a DM. I phoned again today to check if a decision had been made and my little girl has been awarded high rate care until March 2025. She is 10 months old so I was sure it was going to be a decline.

Good luck to everyone, the waiting is so long but it does seem things are moving faster now.

DivGirl · 24/01/2024 15:22

Scan date 30/08

Been on hold for 1hr 15mins so far.

rosey1993 · 24/01/2024 15:53

hey all!
new here...scan date 03/10.
im not expecting to get rewarded dla as i didn't send much evidence, but ive got fingers crossed that my little girl she gets it! hypermobility with loads of pain and joints popping out 😥

Bearintheredhat · 24/01/2024 16:14

@Kellyfoo12345 , I’m pretty sure when they talk about a pile it’s figurative, not literal.
Surely the reason it’s scanned in is that the DM’s work is done digitally?

I too think that post is rubbish

Random one I'm 18 weeks tomorrow claims with dm but still waiting on decisions what are all you parents planning to spend any backpay on I'm hoping to use it to get a safety sleeper for my boy so I can finally get a night's sleep I am 1 tired momma right now bed time was 4.10am for me last night.

Dyslexia test. We just can't afford it.

mamaneedswine · 24/01/2024 17:56

Hi,

We've been awarded HRC and LRM. I have seen some posts mention about carers allowance and carers element.

Please can someone explain this further to me.
Is this something that everyone is entitled too?
What is the difference between the two?
Does it affect UC payments?

Thank you x

Jessyjay11 · 24/01/2024 18:03

Hi spoke to dla today for update scan date 23/9 said it’s with the decision maker. Any ideas how
long I could be waiting now?

Naylor19 · 24/01/2024 18:16

@Jessyjay11 from what I’ve read it could be anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks, hopefully you’ll hear soon!

Jessyjay11 · 24/01/2024 18:27

Fingers crossed x

Kellyfoo12345 · 24/01/2024 19:00

I'm thinking the same I didn't receive my scan letter till at least 4weeks after its near impossible to post scan send confirmation all within 12 days I don't know why they do it ....maybe admin keeping people active in group litterly nothing to gain so frustrating..

Tanyacx · 24/01/2024 20:09

@mamaneedswine carers element won't effect your uc but if you claim carers allowance too that is taken from uc £for£ so it's pretty pointless really imo you can also have disabled child element on your uc claim now too

Livd99 · 24/01/2024 21:15

My son is 4 so does this mean if we get accepted it will be high rate only? Or do we have other options as im not sure. I thought middle and low rate is for 5 years +

This is only the mobility part they can get the high rate from age 3 amd low rate from aged 5

Scan date 4/10
16 weeks today
Still waiting on decision this wait has been painfully long ! Hoping I will hear something soon #wishful 🙏

Kellyfoo12345 · 24/01/2024 21:49

U can claim both at the same time I believe carer's allowance pays towards Yr national insurance so may be worth claiming that also to benefit later on

Livd99 · 24/01/2024 21:55

Did anyone get help doing the form from any 3rd party charity’s etc as im preparing myself incase we get declined as i done the form myself.

dianemummyof3 · 24/01/2024 22:43

My sons senco teacher done mine

GirlMamasClub · 24/01/2024 22:44

@Tanyacx carers allowance will give you your class 1 NI contributions as if you were employed. Child benefit only gives you this until the child is 12 & UC only class 2. CA is helpful if you don’t get CB or child is over 12 xx

I had letters from paediatric dr, physio, speech and language therapist and portage.

MummyMas82 · 25/01/2024 01:33

It’s just gone in my bank! 🙏🏼🥹 such a relief.

How long did UC take to back pay from the date you updated them? I did it on Monday/Tuesday. I’ve answered things raised in the journal. I am literally praying it’s before the 31st 🤞🏼
it’s been hard enough the past 18/19 weeks and I just want things to settle down now and let the monthly award crack on 👍🏻
