Asdmummyhere · 04/11/2023 12:01

6/7 and was told yesterday that it won't be allocated for another 2 weeks

Jneill2021 · 04/11/2023 12:05

@Thismamalife. I sent a change of circumstances form ln May as my little one turnt 5 so could apply for his mobility, the forms have been with them and scanned for 24 weeks now and still another 2 weeks to wait xx
I think new claims are taking around 18 weeks from what I've read xx

Sockbabies · 04/11/2023 12:17

@Thismamalife

I rang at 9:15am yesterday and was told it wasn't with a decision manager at 10:47am I had a text to stay he was awarded xx

Thismamalife · 04/11/2023 12:31

Congratulations! Hope you got the rate you wanted. Maybe I’ll ring again on Monday. Thanks for replying :)

Pawtucketbrew · 04/11/2023 13:42

I received DLA for DD 11 last week. LRC. I was expecting MRC but at the same time was just pleased we'd been awarded. However, I have since received the decision letter and it states my award is based on the fact that DD needs up to one hour of care daytime.

I'm really annoyed as I feel like they didn't even read my form which was basically all focused on her night time needs, her waking in the night her needing someone with her at all times nighttime due to fears and anxiety as well as the length of time her nighttime routines take.

I am going to challenge the decision and go for MR. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and changed the rate? I don't want to appear greedy but at the same time it's like they've not even read the paperwork.

I am also now in receipt of her report from CAMHs as she is now being offered therapy with them for anxiety and OCD so I can send that in.

Girlmum3110 · 04/11/2023 13:56

@Thismamalife I asked for reason to be sent in a letter and to be read out over the phone. The letter is basic over the phone was more specific to what they declined my daughter on. You can do MR over the phone and they write down and then you send in extra evidence. I am doing mine on the form that you can fill in, so it’s all in writing and can send the extra evidence with it.

I was fuming, as they have used the autism assessment professional questionnaire from my daughters teacher and classed it as medical evidence and disregarded anything that was written in her autism diagnosis letter, the autism diagnosis come nearly a year after the questionnaire was filled in. I might be wrong but not sure how a teacher questionnaire can be classed as medical evidence.

PinkMoscatoLover · 04/11/2023 13:57

@Pawtucketbrew the letter you received was a generic one which states why your DD would have received LRC. If you think they haven’t really considered all the information given, then definitely call up and say that you’d like to do a MR. You’ll be able to see a more detailed reason as to why she was awarded LRC.

MRC is awarded when there’s day time AND night time needs so if you think you have enough evidence to support that then absolutely go for the MR. It’s great that you have more information available as you can send that to them as well. I’ve not had to do a MR so I can’t give you my personal experience however loads of people have a different decision made when another DM looks at the claim. Good luck and keep us updated

Been directed over here from Part 13.

I'm still waiting, going into week 16, sent in July, scan date 19/07. Anyone else?

Mummyof5kiddos · 04/11/2023 14:50

@MangoPepsiLover your the first person I’ve seen with the same scan date as me 😊 19/7, I’m hoping to hear something 20/11 but will call 22/11 if I haven’t heard anything before

@Mummyof5kiddos Hi!

Do you think you'll get it? I only applied as physio told me to, I applied when DD was in Reception and didn't get it so don't think we will

Mummyof5kiddos · 04/11/2023 15:00

@MangoPepsiLover i really don’t know i was going to wait til he was diagnosed but citizens advice told me to apply as it’s about his needs now not him being diagnosed. It would help hugely with care for him so im keeping my fingers crossed 🤞My son is 7 but is on the waiting list for everything so ive only sent the form and cahms referral, how about you did you send in much with your form?

@Mummyof5kiddos 2 physio reports with diagnosis' and difficulties on, 1 letter from physio detailing reasonable adjustments at school, a letter from podiatry explaining why DD sees him, her expired IEP from school (because they took the support away saying she didn't need it). Emails between me and Girlguides District Commisoner where I ask about adjustments for her there. And then I got her dad to fill out the "someone who knows the child" section as we're divorced so DD spends time with him and she has issues there.

Mummyof5kiddos · 04/11/2023 15:14

@MangoPepsiLover oh wow you’ve sent in loads, I’m sure they will see your DD would benefit from being awarded DLA with all that evidence, did you send in much the first time?

@Mummyof5kiddos Yeah loads first time but I didn't really explain how DD struggles so didn't get it due to lack of detail I think

Thismamalife · 04/11/2023 16:03

Hello, me again lol. What happens if your awarded middle rate care but feel you deserve high rate care for you child? Do you do an MR over the phone and send in extra evidence and in the meantime while this is going on do you still get paid the middle rate? Or have to give it back? I’m still waiting to hear anything and wondering what to do if awarded too low or not at all. Thank you everyone for help.

Luevzamum · 04/11/2023 17:23
