Just got off the phone he has an NI number, which apparently is an indication he will be awarded something (as they don't ask for and NI number otherwise); however, no decision has been made and it is now back with a Decision Maker. I should "hear shortly".

Scan Date: 7th September. So we are 14 weeks and 5 days...

Mamabearalw · 19/12/2022 13:48

sorry for spelling mistakes started new thread part 7

Hayliebear · 20/12/2022 18:35

You need to report a change to ‘Children and other people who live with you’ and update the details for the child the DLA has been awarded to. They will then look at giving you the disabled child addition.

If your child has been awarded middle or higher rate care then you might be able to get a carer’s element also so you would need to report a change to ‘Caring for someone’ and enter the child’s details and what rate they’ve been awarded. Hope that helps x

i forget to mention she also seid when a decision is made i will get a letter does this mean i wont find out untill i get a letter in post?

I got paid on the 16th and haven't had any decision letter or text!

Mummytolucia · 20/12/2022 21:39

How long did it take you all to get your award letter once awarded. I'm worried my housing benefit is gonna get suspended i need the letter to show them why my tax credits went up :( I really hate these postal strikes have barley been getting post for months.

KaidensMummy0307 · 21/12/2022 13:57

@Mummytolucia im still waiting for my letter as well. I got my text confirming the award last Thursday and received first payment yesterday….but still no letter as yet (and I can’t figure out the rate my son has been awarded either as it doesn’t calculate perfectly no matter what I do). Hopefully the letters are on their way very soon 🤞🏼

Mummytogirls87 · 21/12/2022 14:52

@KaidensMummy0307 did you add the £10 Christmas bonus on xx

KaidensMummy0307 · 21/12/2022 14:54

@Mummytogirls87 how stupid do I feel now HAHA!
I thought the £10 Christmas bonus was just for UC and didn’t realise it was for child DLA also. Makes sense now, thank you x

Mummytogirls87 · 21/12/2022 15:09

@KaidensMummy0307 I only know cos they told me on the phone when my daughter was awarded 🤣 my letter took about 2 weeks to come xx

KaidensMummy0307 · 21/12/2022 15:15

@Mummytogirls87 🤣🙈 im so glad you said that because I’ve been trying to calculate it per day and do various crazy calculations to try and figure it out 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 I can’t imagine I’ll get a letter before Christmas at this rate but at least I’ve managed to work it out for myself now (well, with your help!) lol

I've just got my letter today and I was paid on 16th xx

MsChatterbox · 21/12/2022 16:55

So my letter has come but it doesn't mention anywhere about how long the award is granted for just that they will contact me when its due for renewal. Does anyone else have this?

Mummytogirls87 · 21/12/2022 18:14

@MsChatterbox thats very strange it should definitely say when it’s awarded from and when it will need renewing xx

Mummytolucia · 21/12/2022 20:22

I hope mine comes soon. The post is up the wall got a letter today which was from 5th December which tells you how awful our post is at the minute. If I ring them do you think they'll send another one out. Need it for housing benefit

mammaov3 · 21/12/2022 22:37

@Mummytolucia @Mummyto2gorggirls @MsChatterbox @KaidensMummy0307 just to let you lovely ladies know there is a waiting times part 7 thread now where everyone else has switched to if you want to join in x
