Oh I loved Glen Coe, all that glacial landscape . My DP is from Fife and we've had a few holidays on the west coast, stayed at Oban one year, Ardanmurchan last year, went to Tobermory CHRIST IT WAS STEEP but boys loved finding all the different houses froom Balamory [panting grimacing emoticon].

Anyhoo here's recipe for flapjack. I use my bun tin, makes about 14 little round flapjacks and no faffing trying to guage when its cool enough to cut.........
4 oz butter
3oz golden syrup
3oz soft brown sugar
8oz rolled oats

Place butter syrup and sugar into saucepan, heat gently until melted. stir in oats. Douf (spoon)into bun tin or greased shallow tray.
Cook at 18 degrees for 15 - 20 mins . Enjoy

I've been to Balamory too!! They were only filming there! I was best mummy & godmummy that day!! We got pictures of the kids with Spencer, he was lovely! Really friendly and happy to chat with them. Ms Hoolie on the other hand, was a complete moo! As soon as her scene had finished, she put her coat on and buggered off! We saw all the littlies getting on Eedie Mcreedies (thats not right is it!)bus too.

Shosha, am jealous you are visitng Scotland - although not jealous you are going to Alloa. Maybe shouldn't say that, anyone from there will pounce on me. I'm only jealous because I'm leaving the place at the beginning of June

julia5 · 17/05/2007 17:50

O well Mo at least you had Spencer (I know which I prefer heh heh). Off now tea time etc, catch you all in the morning x

crace · 17/05/2007 17:52

Julia, funny - though it totally doesn't surprise me that Ms Hoolie is moo, she seems the type doesn't she?

How strange that so many of us have a love of or live in Scotland! Maybe we should get tartan throw or something and maybe rename it McStaff room!
Now STOP talking about wonderful Scotland, coz I'm not going I'm spending a rainy weekend in Hastings instead!

crace · 17/05/2007 19:55

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 21:08

PinkChick · 17/05/2007 21:21

Crace, i know you have enough on your plate at minute, but if you do get a couple of mins, do a quick scan of what help she can get, forms she would need etc etc, ive done this for two of my parents and they were mega pleased, if theyre concerned about going back to work, and you can make it easier for them all the more reason they come to you

crace · 18/05/2007 15:47

Not posh, just the country - semi rural kent so lots of gorgeous Oast houses. Not mine of course, but the village is small and nice. So small however, no mindees!
