How much!! What exactly do they have to do to it to incur that much money. Will it be goldplated!!

julia5 · 17/05/2007 13:07

Aha there you are Mo ! My DS1 has Sats this week, he's abso knackered bless. But...........we're off to Cyprus next week so yah booh sucks to stupid testing of these too -young children .Have some flapjack x

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 13:10

Well Julia [Mo folds her arms to gossip] our school and everyone frankly, has been banging on about how important they are to the kids and how they must work hard for them and my dd told me this morning, that all the teachers were checking their papers and giving them pointers yesterday!!

soak · 17/05/2007 13:12

I would expect it will write itself for that amount!!!! aparently they need to scan in the document and email it to the doctor (why they cant just walk the 10 yards from reception to doctors room I dont know) and it can take up to 2 weeks to do!

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 13:14

Bloody government and their or lack of funding, thats what it is! The docs have to make their extra cash somewhere. I'd offer to take it home and scan & email for a fiver!

looneytune · 17/05/2007 13:14

I had to pay £60 too AND I found out the admin people filled it in and then I checked when I got it back and they hadn't signed it - then they just got ANY OLD Dr to sign it - all for £60 FFS!!!

julia5 · 17/05/2007 13:45

at that Mo. And at your docs soak and loonytune. And at my slow typing too

fifilou · 17/05/2007 13:51

hi I'm back!

I've been really good and got on with my essayso thanks for the flapjack julia5!

I just wrote 1500 words for my final examination essay (yawn!) boring.

I'm happy now, despite just checking out the nanny wages thread (they are still going on and on) and I still have time to chat on here before having my mad school run and having 8 for tea.

yay!

hi maureenmlove, no not new to mn, just been quite and watching.............oh dear that sounds a bit spooky!

fifilou · 17/05/2007 13:55

i know im being a bit dumb but what a healthcare declaration?

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 13:56

Good for you fifi! It must feel like a weight of your shoulders. What was it about?

Aparently it goes on in all schools, Julia, my mum is a retired headteacher. Its all about their league tables at the end of the day. Lets face it, the kids have already got their school places and you can't tell me they don't re-assess them when they get there.

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 13:59

{Mo waves to MamaG} Do you know, only an hour ago, I was thinking of mentioning you to our new staff room member! I was going to tell her not to let you near the booze under any circumstances!! How are you my dear? Long time no speak!

MamaG · 17/05/2007 13:59

cheek!

I'm ok thanks m'dear. Been shopping with DS this morning (exciting life I lead) and am about to hoover up. Truly I am

How are you?

crace · 17/05/2007 14:00

Julia - recipe for famous flapjacks please???

crace · 17/05/2007 14:01

Ok, am knackered. Busy am - but all mindees are gone. DD asleep so grabbing food and MN

I have that almost due woman coming tomorrow am so been running around tidying and organising. (Thanks for all the advice on that one btw)

soak · 17/05/2007 14:01

its an a4 double sided peice of paper to say that I am in good health and there is nothing health wise that will stop me being a childminder.

I have just found out I can claim it back through my business plan (begging letter to council asking for money to start up) as surestart no longer give grants.

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 14:03

Not bad. No kids til after school and I thought I'd be free as a bird all day....then dh came home! Now I've got to make it look like I've done something constructive! Usually, I leave the hoover out and plugged in with a duster on top, so that I can quickly jump to attention.

fifilou · 17/05/2007 14:04

i'm doing a degree in childhood and youth studies, oooh i say.......get me! (looking all smug)

anyway, I'm in year 3 (of 6 years as its OU) and my final essay/examination piece is on

'reflection of the course'

basically i have to show them i have been listening and learning and not going on mn every day.

ive done quite well really, but its not finished, it as to be 3500 words.

Then some guy with a beard will sit reading it with his glass of sherry and um and ahhhhhh and give me a 40%. I only need 40% to pass as ive done well in my other essays. Should i slip in a twenty with it when i post it?

MamaG · 17/05/2007 14:06

LOL! Did you write to the hosp about that thingy?

fifilou · 17/05/2007 14:06

thats an excellent idea!hoover and duster- Im going to do that but adapt it, so i might put a box of sorted out kids clothes near the door of the office....and ooops i was just checking my emails!

saying that, i have been good and all is done and im ready for the madness of afterschool riots.

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 14:08

You ought to start a thread for ideas! So when you've finished does that mean you can ask for even more money for your already overpaid job!!

julia5 · 17/05/2007 14:11

Crace I'll get the recipe out later on today, zooming off out now catch you later!

MaureenMLove · 17/05/2007 14:12

I did and I'm waiting on reply. I'm going to get one of my mums to chase it up tomorrow actually. She's a midwife there, so she's in the right place!

Fifi, I have plenty more Goodhousing keeping tips like that one! Who need the FLY when you've got the LIE - ha ha![Mo congratulates herself on her shinning wit!]

MamaG · 17/05/2007 14:16

good on you luv

fifilou · 17/05/2007 14:19

more money? overpaid? how very dare you suggest such a thing!

no, the degree isnt for another job, am happy where i am. Just for me really, to keep my brain active now the lovely lads are at school.

also my boss loves me studying (is that a bit wacko?)

I'm lucky hey?
