It's the nanny's word vs my daughter's... WWYD?

Kids and I were upstairs getting ready for bed tonight and I got hairbrush and blow dryer out to do her hair when DD asked where I found my brush. I said it was in my bag, why? She said our nanny was looking for it to dry her hair today after her shower...
WTF?!?!
Now usually, DD is a super rubbish liar... She'll start smiling and then giggling as soon as I get serious, but she held face and I made her swear that she wasn't lying. She was able to answer my questions (yes, nanny used my ensuite. no, daddy wasn't home. yes, she was sure) So with that said, several issues come to mind...
-Do I believe DD and ask nanny if she took a shower?
-If so, who was looking after the kids whilst she was in the shower? They are 5 and 6, but still...
-Why did she shower here and not at home?
-Why didn't she tell me when I got home? What was the reason for the dishonesty?
OMG!!

What do I do now?

That Venti's been on other threads too, outing herself as a Yank (me too). But not come back here. [grumpy emoticon.]

She's looking for another nanny now....

Bloody Americans!

Got in at 3 after a big night out last night.

There is a shower in the office - I could pop out to Boots and buy some Frieda Frizz Free products, and a new blow dryer etc and freshen up. Do you think they'd mind? I would only have to lock the door (disabled loo as well) for about an hour and a half.

One problem is no towel. I could see if colleagues have one. Then they'd know I was, like, stark naked for a period of time somewhere in the office tho. They might find that freaky.

what to do, what to do.

use the toilet roll to dry off

Apologies for not updating... hope the suspense hasn't been too much...

So I never did approach nanny about the shower, figured it wasn't that big of a deal... I realized that I was more concerned (and embarrassed) that a certain waterproof toy was in the shower than anything else...

And plus, nanny is preggers and won't be coming back after baby arrives, so we're in the market for another nanny now...

What sort of waterproof toy? (snicker snicker)
Smile

nannyl · 11/05/2011 10:48

lol at waterproof toy.

(in one of my (nightmare that lasted 2 week) jobs i worked for a lady...

who had lots of "toys" in her bathroom.... not only did she have them she had a glass cabinate of them and all with special lights for each one Shock... i seriously reckon she arranged them THEN got electrician to do mood lighting for them all... (100% serious)
on display for all to see in her ensuite (that had no doors, was 3 entire rooms knocked into one, (access from hall and her bedroom) and children were allowed to have their bath in their too....and sometimes would have bath WITH mum (fine, but i was expected to be present too, while Mum had bath with her 3 / 8 year old (ie not talking a baby to hand to me).... but mum had no issues with her body, and spent half her time naked anyway.

Strix · 11/05/2011 10:54

OMG... and you staed for two weeks?!?!?

nannyl · 11/05/2011 11:07

I did... silly me
knew after about 2 days hours it was not actually for me. (My ONLY 'bad' job though... all others have been lovely!)

AnnieLobeseder · 11/05/2011 11:12

I am very puzzled as to why you'd care about your nanny having a shower. Especially the part about 'who was looking after the kids?' She was still in the house. Do you never shower unless someone else is looking after them?

Weird.

ChristinedePizan · 11/05/2011 11:23

I once decided to use the ensuite at a party because someone was ages in the bathroom and there was an enormous dildo in the bath. I've never quite been able to look at the couple whose house it was in quite the same way again :o

Venti
yes the suspense did nearly do us all in and I also just wanted you to know I love your threads and need to hear more from you.

(waterproof toy - fantastic.)
