But if I am it's probably going to be very slow!

Having got to sleep at 12.30am (ish) last night I woke up at 2.30 and have been up ever since! I think I might have been woken up by a contraction.

Anyway, next one wasn't until 3.45am, then they came at half hourly intervals until about 7am, but haven't had any since... however I am feeling a great deal of pressure in my pelvic area.... here's hoping!

I agree - go and catch that ferry - positive thoughts they will not send you home tonight.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 28/07/2005 20:01

LOL!!!!

BarefootMama · 28/07/2005 20:01

good luck miaou - sounds hopeful!

bensmum3 · 28/07/2005 20:03

Miaou, I was having contractions 2 days before I had ds2, we were at Loch Garten (middle of nowhere) looking for ofspreys, dh couldn't understand why I wanted to get back to the hospital, made me go for a pub meal on the way back, then everything went quiet until 0630, ds was born at 0730, don't worry about looking silly, take the comfortable route and enjoy the attention while you can .

Chandra · 28/07/2005 20:03

HOw long is the ferry trip?

Oh Miaou!, finish your curry and go for the ferry, you want to give birth in water but that doesn't mean you have to have a ferry in between .

kalex · 28/07/2005 20:09

M, get yea to the hospital, although I think that you should wait in order to give DD2 as much time at Grans as possible,

Love to you and all
K

chandra, the ferry only takes 5 minutes, but if she doesn't go before it stops for the night, it's an hour along a single track road, and probably no mobile phone reception. I'm going to have to phone in a minute to make sure she's gone.

RTKangaMummy · 28/07/2005 20:13

or a rowing boat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chandra · 28/07/2005 20:23

OK, not that bad then, but still... please Mious...TAKE THE FERRY!

Miaou · 28/07/2005 20:24

Ok, ok I'm going....

Just rang the hospital, spoke to the midwife who said to come in and they'll have a look see.

Bensmum - I didn't know that you've galvanised me now....

If I don't post by lunchtime tomorrow then you can guess that something is happening!

good luck how u have ur lovely wee bundle very soon

Miaou · 29/07/2005 09:53

No, it's not me, it's DH.

Miaou has had another relaxing night in the hospital, contractions coming every 10 minutes, stronger than the first night, then about 1.30 they just stopped again!

So I've come home to sort out some bits and pieces, and Miaou is still in the Midwifery unit having a relaxing bath, and generally chilling. She decided to stay there and stay relaxed as she was having some very gentle "tightenings" across the bump this morning and the midwife was hopeful that with a bit of relaxation she may just get going again.

If I've not heard anything before the last ferry this evening then I'll be on that ferry and have another night in the comfy chair. The things I do for my wife

Oh, and I'll let you folks know the minute anything happens.
