But if I am it's probably going to be very slow!

Having got to sleep at 12.30am (ish) last night I woke up at 2.30 and have been up ever since! I think I might have been woken up by a contraction.

Anyway, next one wasn't until 3.45am, then they came at half hourly intervals until about 7am, but haven't had any since... however I am feeling a great deal of pressure in my pelvic area.... here's hoping!

EXCCELLENT well at least you don't need to worry about pooing all over the birthing room...

Sounds like things are moving (not just bowels) - good luck!

Miaou · 27/07/2005 21:24

my thoughts exactly, mp!!! I can leave my sieve at home now!

Hello everyone! Well here I am, sans baby. Had an eventful night though!

Went to bed about half ten last night, started getting strong contractions at about 11.15pm. After about 5 in a row, dh and I decided to ring the hospital and they said to come in, although the m/w wasn't convinced I was in established labour as they were 10-15 mins apart.

So off we went (thanking our lucky stars that the dds were already sleeping over at my mums), all the way round the loch, arrived at the hospital at about 1am. However on the way there the contractions had lessened in strength and, by the time I was examined, had almost stopped altogether. The m/w examined me and gave me the news that I was all of 1cm dilated! I felt like a bit of a fraud then!

Since we were such a long way from home, she suggested we stayed overnight just in case things started to happen again, but the only room available was the examination room where I usually have my m/w appointments! But they made up the bed and brought in a comfy chair for dh and we settled in. My contractions continued on and off, but by 4.30am they were most definitely off. Grr.

So, after an examination this morning to make sure the baby was fine, I had breakfast and we came home. I went straight to bed and slept for three hours! I still feel like I've been run over by a bus though. As we left everyone joked "see you tonight!". Mum and dad are having the kids again, as the m/w opinion is that I'm really not far away (fingers crossed).

This thread is gonna turn into an epic at this rate!!!

Sending you some contraction dust!!

rubles · 28/07/2005 13:32

Stop start it is....

Gobbledigook · 28/07/2005 13:35

Ooh, all sounds SO familiar! Me exactly 11 months ago!! I was in and out of hospital and on one exit they all said 'see you later' and they did!

Will watch with interest!

champs · 28/07/2005 13:35

Miaou -- dont be sorry i needed the bossing
How exciting (although frustrating for you) more pinapple today?

mandyc66 · 28/07/2005 14:27

have a bit of you know what...thats supposed to help!!!

Miaou · 28/07/2005 14:33

HOW??????????

On second thoughts, don't tell me....

OK pineapple and curry again tonight. I'm off out now to march up and down the beach, see if that gets me going!

Just rang my mum and spoke to dd2 who asked if we could not have the baby until at least tomorrow night as she is having so much fun at Granny's house and wants to stay a bit longer

GDG - glad it's not just me doing the hokey cokey at the hospital (in, out, in, out) - and with the third one too! I'm hoping things will get going later. Fortunately they are really happy for me to go in at the drop of a hat - m/w is convinced that when I actually do go into labour it will be quite quick as my cervix has been having lots of practice!

oooh - there goes another BH - right off for my walk now.

Miaou - Sex its fab to get labour going when you're teetering on the edge like this. I had sex with my DH, contractions started within the hour.... I was 2-3cm and sent home. Next day, still nothing so I grabbed DH again.... contractions started again within an hour. I went to hospital with tiny niggling backache type contractions and was 4 cm.
I know this is TMI, but it's better if you have an orgasm too.

You know what to do.

RTKangaMummy · 28/07/2005 14:44

how exciting for you

look forward to the birth announcement very soon

or maybe a bit later on

Deffo brill

enjoy yourself which ever method you want to use to get it going.

mandyc66 · 28/07/2005 14:50

how?!!!
I think you know the answer to that!!!!
Thats how you got in to this situation in the first place!!!!!
Its supposed to be a natural method of induction!!! well try seduction!!! It might work and if it doesnt...so what!!!

mummyhill · 28/07/2005 16:06

Spoons is supposed to be the least complicated way of doing it when heavily pregnant (Not that I would know of course)

mummyhill · 28/07/2005 16:07

Forgot to add good luck

Miaou · 28/07/2005 17:19

Whoopee, contractions have started again, stronger than they were before too

We've got 3 1/2 hours before the ferry stops for the night to decide if I am in labour this time... here's hoping!

Am having curry for tea again in a bit. And I'm not telling you if I'm going to follow the other advice
