Been getting pains all evening, just been to loo and wiped and there was bloody discharge (aware could be because of internal) - Consultant was convinced I would be going soon when he did internal today - I am praying that tonight is the night as I am fed up!

Did anyone else have bloody discharge (not a show) pre-labour?

solo · 04/02/2009 12:50

I'm sitting here with a stupid grin on my face! I have no idea why...

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 13:05

Lulumama Do you not remember over a year of my whinging and obsessing, and your extreme patience whilst I tried to make sense of birth no. 1?

AND

Then a year of being pregnant (yes I was actually pregnant for a year) and obsessing more and asking every conceivable question under the sun and your patience once again and your giving me lots and lots of information?

Of course you can take credit for that. I must have had HOURS of your time!

Are we down to 6 minutes yet?

pgwithnumber3 · 04/02/2009 13:11

Every 8 atm.

Lulumama · 04/02/2009 13:11

i do remember, but, you know, don;t want to be taking the credit for stuff.. that was the longest pregnancy in the world ever !!

pgwithnumber3 · 04/02/2009 13:15

Lulu, I have told DH to get the bags and come to my mums. Do you think that is the right thing to do? I just went the loo and had a pain then so it is hard to gauge when I had my last one as I have been sitting on the sofa timing them. I think it was around 5 mins ago. Am panicking in case this is a false alarm, I will be so disappointed. I have had to arrange for DD1 to be collected and will feel a fool!

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 13:15

pg3 Are you using the contraction timer I linked to?

LOL The first pg didn't work out, but I fell pg again straight away, so it was 12 months in total (with a gap of a couple of weeks I suppose)!

Anyway, don't underestimate your contribution on here and in your other birthing work. I have ambitions to follow in your footsteps eventually, but one thing at a time!

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/02/2009 13:17

Ooh - am I joining just at the right time. Good luck! Home birth os hosp?

pgwithnumber3 · 04/02/2009 13:17

I haven't started yet as I want to be 100% sure they are coming strong enough Snowlight!

OP posts:
SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 13:18

Oh pg3 IMHO, since you've been on an off you're hardly going to be jumping to conclusions now. If you've felt motivated to arrange for delivery (he he he), then your instincts are probably right!

Lulumama · 04/02/2009 13:19

don;t bother with ctx timer.. it is the length and strenght of them really that is important.. 50 + seconds usually

if you have a pain on the loo, it usually is quite strong due to the way you are sitting

just potter and try not to focus too much on timing..

any more show?

MKG · 04/02/2009 13:23

Am now incredibly !

Good luck and try to relax as much as possible.

(God everytime I check this thread my plunger and knitting needles look more and more appealing)

PortofinosDHwillDieIfHeForgets · 04/02/2009 14:00

Ooh - how exciting! Good luck!

sweetkitty · 04/02/2009 14:01

Thinking of you today, hope this is IT and you will soon have a gorgeous little pink newborn bundle, oh the smell of them I am so jealous (well not of the labour but the end bit), theres nothing even comes close

best of luck xxx

Neeerly3 · 04/02/2009 14:10

I am too to post, but am hooked on clicking refresh every 2 seconds for an update! send labour vibes over here pls!

pgwithnumber3 · 04/02/2009 14:10

They are coming more frequent and painful, the problem I am having is that I went into labour naturally with DD1 and didn't have very painful contractions until 8cm! I have no idea how to gauge if this is early labour etc. DH is coming to my mum's asap so do you think I should pop to labour ward and see what's what?

OP posts:
Neeerly3 · 04/02/2009 14:12

give them a call I reckon, don't they like to speak to you through a contraction to see if it's fully established or not?

LackaDAISYcal · 04/02/2009 14:15

I was having to squat to wee pgNo3, as the pains got bad if I tried to sit down.

Also, if you find you are getting closer to the floor each time they happen, then it's probably it!

I'm very excited for you

pgwithnumber3 · 04/02/2009 14:15

I can speak through them but I could with DD1 until 1 hour before I was to give birth and that was my first labour.

Neeerly3 · 04/02/2009 14:16

get thee to hosp, but take a laptop and continue to post!

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/02/2009 14:20

Neerly I dunno. I was screaming my head off at 2cm with no.1 and had to have an internal because they thought I was in transition.

With no.2, MW didn't think I was even in established labour when I suddenly said 'the baby is coming' and was born 22mins later.

All they can really tell over the phone is how well you are coping, not how far along you are.

pg Go with you intuition, but you might be better at home getting a bit more 'established'. Hospital environments have a horrible way of stopping everything or slowing things down, and the last thing you want is to be on a timer (which you will be as soon as you walk through the doors).

You kind of want momentum behind you before you arrive there iyswim.

And also, it will be very boring for us if you go in now
