DS I apoligised to him for shouting .

DD I didn't want to hold as I felt sick and was a bit angry at her (I don't know why it was the drugs lol)

DD2 I felt the amazing rush everyone talks about it .

Just wondered about other peoples feelings .

lol at TurkeyLurkey

don't remember when I first got to hold her - it was a CS so there was a lot of holding of her behind the back of my head iyswim! I do remember thinking, 'ahem, do you think I could see her now!' and then being amazed at her hair - she had a great black mohawk and hairy shoulders and forehead. Just like me!

candyfluff · 23/07/2008 20:22

ds 1 -hmm lovely can u stop it crying now i need to sleep
dd 2 - ah she looks like her daddy and oh i thought she would be prettier
ds 3- oh hello my beautiful boy i love you soooo much and you look like your daddy.

Slubberdegullion · 23/07/2008 20:24

Could I have my cup of tea now please?

Lizzylou · 23/07/2008 20:27

DS1- Stop falling asleep, you are supposed to be an ecstatic new MOm
DS2 - Bloody hell, he is 10lb 11oz

madmouse · 23/07/2008 20:27

Oh hello it is you. Of course it is you. I have always known you.

And at the same time some disbelief that a baby had come out of me.

ChirpyGirl · 23/07/2008 20:28

DD1 - Ooh, a baby,(didn't quite believe she was mine after a CS)
DD2 - wow, look what I did! (I actually said this to DH and MW, who burst out laughing)

piratecat · 23/07/2008 20:34

blubs at madmouses post.

'i have always known you'

i felt.feel the same now.

cmotdibbler · 23/07/2008 20:34

The first time I held him ? Oh feck, where do I put all these blardy leads/drips.

Took me a few days to really feel that he was mine as it was all a bit surreal (born at 35 weeks, straight into SCBU)

LookattheLottie · 24/07/2008 00:36

Ummm, well after dd 'came out' she was put on me instead of me holding her. MW took it upon herself to whip up my nighty (like I has any dignity left anyway....!) and place dd on my tummy for 'skin to skin' contact.

All I could think was 'ok I've had her now, you've starved me for 14 bloody hours 'in case we need to section you', I want my feckin tea and toast, now. And while your at it, get this sodding drip out my hand. Please.'

Dd was beautiful, but all I really remember of the first hour was scoffing 4 slices of toast and 3 cups of tea........

IdrisTheDragon · 24/07/2008 00:40

DS - really can't remember. He was delivered using forceps and then I started bleeding quite a bit and everything started getting rather busy

DD - complete and utter feeling of love and that no one was going to take her away from me.

donovan · 24/07/2008 00:43

when dh first held dd he looked into her eyes and said 'oh, there you are, I have been waiting for you my whole life' and promptly burst in to tears. It has to have been the sweetest thing I have ever heard. When he saw ds, who was 4 months early, he was so horrified about how ill he looked, that he didn't want to get close in case he died . Luckily that only lasted 24 hours, and by the time we first held him (ds was 3 months old by this point.) things had dramitically changed and now, they are so close, it is almost sickening.

AbstractMouse · 24/07/2008 00:47

Dd- had her by cs, when I first saw her I thought she was so beautiful, if covered in meconium.

Ds, O thought he was really fat and pink, but damn cute.

ExterminAitch · 24/07/2008 00:51

i distinctly remember thinking dd would have to develop a good personality, as she was raaaaather squashed in the face and quite cross-looking.

gigglewitch · 24/07/2008 01:32

ds1 - awww, my baby, isn't he gorgeous
ds2 - haven't you got huge red balls

dd - "It's a she "

dd - he hasnt got a penis! so covinced i was having a boy.
ds - oh hes looks like a mini dd.

Greedygirl · 24/07/2008 07:25

Relief that he was out! I said to the anesthetist "what is going on with his head then?". He had a cone head. I felt like I recognised him from the scan (barring the cone head!).

nik76 · 24/07/2008 08:13

Shock and disbelief, Did you know a baby just came out of me??!!!???

Milkysallgone · 24/07/2008 08:31

dd - Wow she looks strange. I want sleep now!

ds - Felt so amazed and proud that had managed a vbac, just got a fantastic feeling of contentment and calm.

it's a boy! (she most definitely wasn't)

i just remember thinking how pink and baby-like she looked. And she was a lot fairer than i'd imagined. And she looked ever so familiar, like i'd always known her.

JuneBugJen · 24/07/2008 10:45

As DS was brought out triumphantly behind Cesarean screen I said 'Oh my God, it's Gollum.'
Not the nicest comment, but very true. I blame the morphine.

mamadiva · 24/07/2008 10:51

With DS- After ES 'Ooh that wasn't so bad' then 5 mins later turned to DP who was holding DS and says 'Who does he look like'

Never got the rush of love thing TBH love him now obviously.
