Lulumama · 05/04/2008 20:10

nope, tis my turn ! back in 3 minutes!

scorpio1 · 05/04/2008 20:10

ooh no i was answering fleecy, about previous labour!

fryalot · 05/04/2008 20:10

lulu - no it isn't

VictorianSqualor · 05/04/2008 20:14

Bessie I had an abnormal doppler scan at 24 weeks that showed issues with my placental blood flow so they have been advising cs from 38 weeks, I got them to 40 weeks quite easily and now am not sure how much longer I want to push it.

Lulumama · 05/04/2008 20:14

i realised !

you won !

PuhPeng · 05/04/2008 20:14

Wouldn't it be good if chocolate brought on labour?

scorpio1 · 05/04/2008 20:15

Hi VS, every night when i go to bed i wonder if i will wake up in labour, and also if you will!

[need to get out more emoticon]

Lulumama · 05/04/2008 20:23

i wonder too, girls, really, i do !

puh, try it and see !

jofeb04 · 05/04/2008 20:24

Lol lulu, I know that feeling

ruty · 05/04/2008 20:25

Hi VS, have all your subsequent dopplers been ok? Just wondering because i had one dodgy one around the same time and they've been scanning me every 2 weeks since and so far so good. [fingers and toes crossed]

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 20:50

Am nearly officially overdue.... arrrgghhhh

VictorianSqualor · 05/04/2008 20:55

I'm not quite sure tbh ruty, they always say everything is fine but go on about my 'abnormal dopplers', I've also had a plus of protein every time which worries them though.
I'm sure they're just waiting for me to get Pre-Eclampsia!

Lulumama · 05/04/2008 20:56

if you have had one abnormal doppler only then surely things are ok>

and one plus of protein in isolation is not that significant, with normal BP, no swelling etc, IMHO

Fleecy · 05/04/2008 20:58

Thanks lulumama - now off to have a look at the link.

Here's hoping things start off for some of you tonight...

VictorianSqualor · 05/04/2008 21:00

Apparently that doppler at 24weeks is the issue though plus the placental abruption I had with DD, the doppler suggests my placenta isnt quite up to scratch and then combined with my previous history increases the risk of IUGR and stillbirth significantly, though when I asked for stats they didnt have any specific numbers, mainly because they induce/CS at 38weeks so can't tell me the risk after then.

Lulumama · 05/04/2008 21:02

i see
it is almost a question of you holding your nerve isn;t it, to go for your VBA2C against what they tell you

what is your gut feeling about this>

VictorianSqualor · 05/04/2008 21:04

I don't know!
I go through moments of being absolutely petrified of my CS and in pieces with DP telling me to call and cancel it and then moments of calm when I feel that I've given it enough of a go and that I don't want to risk my baby dying.

Lulumama · 05/04/2008 21:05

(((hugs))) it is a hard decision to make

VictorianSqualor · 05/04/2008 21:08

I'm kind of comfortable will monday ebing the last chance to make any decisions now, DP and I have talked about it tons as I'm sure you can imagine so it's all dependant on this mw's advice monday now.
She isn't anyone I've ever seen before either, just a community midwife that I called and asked if she could do a sweep to try and get me started so at least her opinions should be totally unbiased which will help.

Prisci · 05/04/2008 21:43

Hi,

I am still here too, one week overdue by first EDD and 2 Weeks by second EDD, not sure what to say apart that I am very very fed up of being pregnant. Seeing the obstetrician on monday and will decide then if we should induce/when to induce. Also, getting tired of hearing things like you are still pregnant, are you? etc... well yes I am, that's why I am out, looking like a whale and that no baby is attached to me at the present.

Sorry needed a moan indeed, at the same time cheered up by the lovely baby stories.

Squonk, I've got some lovely organic eggs from the market to pass on!

ruty · 05/04/2008 21:46

that's a tough one VS, hope all goes the way you want. I don't know
what the risk factors are for me at all, hopefully they'd tell me if they had any specific concerns.

fryalot · 05/04/2008 21:49

did you all hear that, ladies?

Organic, poached eggs on fresh rye bread for breakfast tomorrow

Lulumama · 05/04/2008 21:50

hey prisci and bunny, hang on in there!

if you stick around too long, i'll make you go and have sex, nipple stim and do a visualisation in the bath of your birth !

vacaloca · 05/04/2008 22:15

VS - poor you, it's a tough call. I would follow your gut instinct on Monday. As to whether the VBA2C was worth it... ABSOLUTELY! The feeling when I realised it was really going to happen and I was going to be able to push my baby out all by myself was amazing. A memory I will cherish all my life. Hopefully the memory of the stitches, infection, etc will disappear very quickly! The birth was everything I imagined - complete elation when he was born, DH caught him and passed him straight to me and it was without a doubt the happiest moment of my life. Oh and the staff at the JR were pretty amazing. I was thinking of you after the birth and even mentioned you to the midwife that was with me throughout the birth. She only qualified very recently and yet she was amazing, really keeping the consultants at bay, telling them to leave me alone about the CS and that I was doing very well by myself and really respecting all my wishes and following my birth plan religiously. I really hope you'll have a similar experience hopefully even this weekend!

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 23:52

Hanging on but sick of this hacking cough and my LO kicking back everytime!!

VS, Peachy and everyone else... keep thinking 'head towards the light...' it's bound to work for one of us.

Night night
