morning

you don;t need inducing, you need to be patient.. baby is coming, just not as quickly as you would like

if you have your waters broken , you are on a countdown for labour to start, and at risk of more intervention.. eg synto drip to get things moving, drip can confine your movements, can make labour harder to cope with...

i;d let mama nature and baby get on with things in there own sweet time, and think about induction at term + 12.. you can have expectant management instead

just my humble opinion x

missyhols · 10/09/2007 08:48

Thanks lulu. Any opinions are appreciated. I was rigged up to monitor throughout with my last so i would like to avoid that again. Want to try for my water birth.

Ok had a sweep and booked in for induction tomorrow if nothing happens tonight! I feel much more at ease, i know you all said to avoid it but i'm finding it hard now.

They also finally changed my due date! I was right and it was the 18th.

Missy, I can not believe that that Baby is still a no-show....however, now that you relax and are happy with having an iNduction date...it would not surprise me if Baby will be here before then....because I think you have not really relaxed yourself , and now you can truely relax...and that often works the best

missyhols · 10/09/2007 13:02

Lol your prob right. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow so safe for induction. I'm really going to miss dd though how stupid does that sound! I love her so much i'm worried I'll not have enough to share!

OP posts:
3andnomore · 10/09/2007 13:11

missy, it's so natural to feel that way...but you know what...love is not in you in a limited amount, it grows with the amount of people that you love

missyhols · 10/09/2007 13:16

thats nice to know. X

Mrsjaffabiffa · 10/09/2007 13:26

Thats great news missy, I've had two inductions both due to being overdue and they were both fab. My second one with dd1 was the dream induction and perfect labour so I hope you get the same.

They will do planned inductions here from 39 weeks too if you want it.

Remember to get dh to text with news when you can so that I can fill in the international partners.

I felt the same about the love going round thing. the gals are right though, it's weird as you don't know where it will come from but it does, mine ae all equal to me in everyway. Not all the time I'll add. depends how they are behaving. lol

missyhols · 10/09/2007 13:50

Lol. So what should i expect tomorrow? I'm going in at 8 am!

OP posts:
3andnomore · 10/09/2007 14:47

no idea missy....how are you doing....you been quiet a long time

lulumama · 10/09/2007 14:53

if you are dilated enough, you will be taken to labour ward to have your waters broken, if not dialted enought, you will be given a pessary to soften and dilate the cervix enough for it to be done

if contractions are not strong or regular enough to dilate the cervix, you will be given a syntocinon drip to move things along

try to stay mobile, and move with the contractions and you can refuse to be stuck on the bed with continous monitoring if you are not comfortable with that

induction can be more painful as your body has not had a chance to release endorphins to help with the pain relief, but being able to mobilise can really help

missyhols · 10/09/2007 15:04

Feel quite yucky still bit of diarohrea(can't think how to spell it) i was two cms earlier so not much change but with the show hopefully I'll go that extra bit. I would like to be as mobile as poss don't want to be rigged up again. Have not completely ruled out a epi yet though! I'll go with flow

OP posts:
3andnomore · 10/09/2007 15:07

diarhoea...oh that is excelllent news
With es I started diarhoea at around midnight, and well, about 2 hours later I realsied that I also had stomach cramps...and with that I realsied that I was very possibly in labour and well, about 7 hours later he was there

missyhols · 10/09/2007 15:11

OP posts:
Mrsjaffabiffa · 10/09/2007 20:00

It may happen tonight, but try to sleep. I know your mind will be racing but you are going to need all your strength for tommorow if it doesn't. Ooooooooo it's exciting, hopefully by this time tom you'll have bubba in your arms.
