Feels like something is coming out?

I have no idea how to even describe it lol but I was having pressure and pain last night and the feeling that something is coming out of my vagina? Still feeling it now, especially when on the birthing ball! Like maybe a similar feeling to when you’re about have a big bit of blood come out when you’re on your period? Like something I could take out and it would be a soft ball of something😂 I don’t know😂 Nothing has actually come out yet, but just wondered if anyone has experienced anything like this lol. Never felt that before, but been having the pressure and pain in my lower pelvis, bum, and back pain, for a few days. I’m 37 weeks today. Baby has been engaged since about 34 weeks I think, at least. Thanks ladies!

I don’t know but I’d suggest you phone your midwife!

Foxglovesandprimroses · 04/02/2020 11:58

Sounds like it might be the mucus plug dislodging. My sister passed hers whole at the start of her labour and it was the size of a golf ball.

yelyahyoung · 04/02/2020 12:03

Thanks @INeedNewShoes I think I might? Perhaps I’ll leave it just for a couple of hours to see if anything happens and if not will give her a text anyway, just in case.
@foxglovesandprimroses wow! Yes I did think this, but think I have been passing small bits of it over the past couple/few weeks. Unless it’s been ‘reforming’ as it does and is now wanting to completely come out lol

I have just a little ‘inspection’ with my fingers and could feel what I unmistakably believe is the baby’s head, is that normal? I have no idea. Obviously not the babies ACTUAL head, but through something that feels thin. Like the membranes I guess. Just don’t know if it’s normal to be able to feel the head or notHmm

Um, no? If you can feel the baby's head coming out call an ambulance! Or do you mean at your cervix?

CorianderLord · 04/02/2020 12:08

I would go to hospital tbh... this sounds strange and I'd want the baby checked

yelyahyoung · 04/02/2020 12:13

@BertieBotts lol sorry, I should have mentioned in my cervix! If she was hanging out I think I’d definitely be in the hospital lol. I can feel it behind the wall of my vagina I guess. Just didn’t know if this was normal if baby is engaged. I will give the midwife a buzz!
@CorianderLord strange? Ok! Thank you hun. I don’t really know what I’m supposed to be expecting! Which is great reason to get myself checked out, even if it’s nothing.

Op I'd really really call your delivery suite. Are you on your own? Call now!

caffeinefix · 04/02/2020 12:46

Get to the hospital!!

Spam88 · 04/02/2020 12:49

Hope you've called your midwife/maternity ward now 😬

Do you have a labour line type service to the labour ward? I would call that if you do.

MrsMozartMkII · 04/02/2020 12:58

Hope the midwife is with you now lass.

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal · 04/02/2020 13:02

Get medical help right now, it could be a cord prolapse.

managedmis · 04/02/2020 13:03

Seriously?

yelyahyoung · 04/02/2020 13:54

So they said it’s ok and that it will be her head as she is just very low but to keep an eye on it and ring straight away if I have any pain or waters go/blood loss... that it’s pretty normal but defo come ASAP if I feel anything since she’s so low. So all seems well...
So I will just continue to wait whilst bouncing on my ball... lol

I would really get check out! I've had 4 children And all my labour is just feeling of pressure, each time I have been at least 7 cm dilated when I arrived at hospital and I hadn't even had a contraction by that point, it's called precipitous labour and the are pretty pain free until the very end, all mine children were also born within 10 minutes first contraction, and two were born in waters

yelyahyoung · 04/02/2020 14:02

@user246854 wow that’s interesting, I haven’t heard about precipitous labour... gives me something new to read about lol. Thank you for the word of warning!

And thank you everyone else! Smile

I hadn't heard of them and it wasn't until I was having my 3rd the midwife told me

I honestly get no pain and just pressure (like something is hanging out) and really random tightenings. When my contracts do kick in they are just full on, back to back and baby is born within minutes

Good luck op,

Jojo2wyatr · 04/02/2020 14:52

OP, How exciting that you are about to bring a LO into the world...congratulations!
Enjoy every second of every moment with her that you can...these seconds are so fleeting...yes, every bit of crying, sleeplessness, and all those nappy changes, winding, etc. My DM advised me to never wish that a stage of DCs life has passed such as being through with nappies because then you arent able to enjoy your DD at the time and before you know it, she will be 18yrs and ready to go out on her own....just breathe in every bit of her marvelous baby essence while you canFlowers

yelyahyoung · 04/02/2020 20:00

@user246854 wow that must be amazing lol. Provided you are in good range of the hospital that is and the baby is born all well and good!!
I would like to ask a question about it if you are able to answer.... her head is still very much there and I am struggling to sit down. I’ve been stood up practically all day lol and on the birthing ball if I do sit down, but only for a couple of minutes at a time. I just went to go to the toilet and after pushing (sorry, you know what I mean lol) I felt her head RIGHT there. Like she was right at the exit of my vagina. After standing up for a bit she seems to not be practically hanging out lol. The thing is I just don’t have any pain really, and I don’t think my waters have broken. I can’t tell if I’ve been leaking waters or it’s just discharge or urine lol. And definitely not had a show of any kind however I have been losing pieces of this over the past few weeks I think. The hospital said having her head there is probably normal as she is so low. So not really sure what to think!

Um, I think I'd go to the hospital if I were you, OP. Honestly, from what you're describing the birth sounds imminent! Good luck!!

Spam88 · 04/02/2020 20:12

Most people's waters don't go until they're in labour (mine went while I was pushing with my second). I also didn't have a show until I was ready to push. I'd really ask to be examined - if the community midwife won't do it then just go to the hospital.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 04/02/2020 20:12

In fact, depending on how far away from the hospital you are, I might stay put and ring an ambulance!
