Hi everyone
Started having contractions at about 7pm, only coming every half hour or so so went to bed before 10.
Don't know how often they're coming (still not very often) but I can't sleep through them now. Plus they seem to go on for ages - I thought at this early stage they would be fairly quick.
I don't really know what I want to know except I thought I'd go to sleep and they'd be gone by the morning (was expecting to go 2 weeks overdue). Does this sound like it, or will it probably go on for the next 10 days?

Are they still painful Katy?

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 19:00

Yes, I think they're getting more painful.
How are yours? Have you been for your walk?

maveta · 26/04/2007 19:08

Bah. Barely notice them.. dh home any minute now and then we´ll go out, see if that helps guide him (lo not dh) towards the light... and hey, if not, maybe at least I´ll get a good night´s sleep??

Will check in on you when I get back of course

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 19:09

That sounds spiritual - loses it when you start talking about the polar bear though
Hope you enjoy your walk!

Hope the walk does the trick Maveta - fingers crossed.

Katy - have you tried rocking back and forwards on your birthing ball, my friend did this and used her tens, said it really helped. x

maveta · 26/04/2007 19:12

Thanks girls, I will report back...

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 20:05

I've done that between contractions, probably not as much as I should!
Going for a rock now!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 22:15

Hi
lulumama, I thought you were going to bed?
They're coming every 6 or 7 minutes, still OK but I'm pleased I have the TENS machine.
Just want someone to wave a magic and and tell me how long it's going to be!

OP posts:
lulumama · 26/04/2007 22:18

i was, but i have laptop again! so am in bed, but not sleeping ! how long they lasting? are you weeing ?empty bladder and bowels is good to make room for baby to move down!

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 22:19

still lasting between 45 seconds and a minute
And yes, all I seem to be doing at the moment is emptying my bladder and bowels

good stuff !! sip some water or raspberry leaf tea, maybe have a snack, or stir some honey in your tea, for energy,
if you feel like a lie down or a sleep, do it! if this is 'it', then a rest can spur your body on...

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 22:22

raspberry leaf tea - good idea!

lulumama · 26/04/2007 22:29

is DH with you?

Katy44 · 26/04/2007 22:38

I've sent him to bed, one of us might as well get some sleep. I'm under instructions to wake him if I need anything though.
Why? You're not going to suggest sex are you?

OP posts:
lulumama · 26/04/2007 22:42

moi !??! no way

no, just am really going to go to sleep soon, didn;t want to leave you on your own!
