Hi everyone
Started having contractions at about 7pm, only coming every half hour or so so went to bed before 10.
Don't know how often they're coming (still not very often) but I can't sleep through them now. Plus they seem to go on for ages - I thought at this early stage they would be fairly quick.
I don't really know what I want to know except I thought I'd go to sleep and they'd be gone by the morning (was expecting to go 2 weeks overdue). Does this sound like it, or will it probably go on for the next 10 days?

hope you get some good sleep katy!!!
will come and check on your later (see, practicing my motherly duties already

Thanks - I already feel more human just from taking the TENS off! GOing to have a wee without holding the wires out of the way and worrying about dropping the machine down the loo!

aw Katy

what you went thru last night is exactly what happened when i was in labour with Matthew, went in cos it hurt so much and they told me i hadn't started yet! it is really disheartening but try to stay positive x

and it can't be anything to do with pain threashold (tho that's what i thought at the time too), cos i delivered Joe without any paracetamol

Katy44 · 27/04/2007 09:49

How long was it between being sent back home and going in to have him for real?
(Desperately hoping...)
although my contractions have slowed down - which is fine by me at the moment

I went in at 7pm and they sent me home, said to come back when you can't bear the pain. cue face, "you mean it's gonna get worse than this?"

Finally gave up and went in at midnight, was still not in labour according to them but stayed in. gave birth at 12:13 (lunchtime)

Katy44 · 27/04/2007 09:55

Well 12 hours is very respectable.
Mine are 8/7 minutes again, think they're going to work down to 5 again but I'm going to leave the TENS off for now I think. Not sure whether I like it or not after all, was coping fine breathing and walking before I started using it - felt like I'd achieved something after each contraction, when it's on I seem to spend the whole time adjusting it, if the contraction goes well I think I had it on too high, if not I think well I can't even cope with the TENS! Plus I hate getting tangled up in the wires and having the pads drop off.

tbh Katy that's where i got to with TENS, didn't find it really worked for me with either labour. and with Joe i actually felt it made it worse

go with what works for you x

lulumama · 27/04/2007 09:59

LOL!! got visions of you , knotted up in the bathroom, trying to have a wee, wrapped in your tens machine !!! snooooooooort !

Katy44 · 27/04/2007 10:29

Hi sauce, glad you slept well.
No I am NOT still weeing! have actually been cleaning the bathroom and going to make myself a coffee to have in the bath.
I'm glad it's not just me with the TENS machine, I have to say I had it on this morning as I slept and it probably meant I slept through some contractions which I'm very grateful for, but I felt betrayed when I woke up having a huge one to find it was out of batteries! I might put it on again later deoending on how I feel.
Did we find out what has happened to maveta?
