Am almost 39 weeks and am booked for a cs at 40 weeks. Had ds by "emergency" cs following a failed induction at 41 weeks (I was a non-starter!) and he was 10lbs. They are reckoning on another big baby (but I haven't had a growth scan or anything so can't be sure.) Have got another 8 days to manage a vbac but am lurching between desperately hoping I go into labour and praying that I make it to 40 weeks and the section.

Would really appreciate a happy birth story of someone who popped out a big baby with ease! Or even better, someone who went overdue with their first, was a failed induction and gave birth by cs to a whopper and then followed it up by giving birth to a 6lber in 3 hours with no pain relief or stitches?!! Well a girl can dream!

Anchovies, hope it all goes well Smile

If you don't want to have the section this week, its totally up to you, so you could always change it to next week. Your call!

Anchovies good luck! I have just had a 10lb 4 boy by c-section (my 4th child, 1st c-section) . I had a failed ventouse delivery not because of his size but because his head was in a bad position.

My last baby weighed in at 11lbs and 3oz (I'm 5ft1). The labour was 5hr start to finish, I had him at home, in a birthing pool with 2 wonderful community midwives and didn't need any pain relief. Have faith in your body!

Hat's off to all of you women to give birth with no pain relief!!!

d/d weighed in at 9lb 10oz took forever atleast 4 changes of midwives and i had to be given drug to make my contractions stronger!!??? had an epidural.

d/d 2 weighed in at 9lb 8 oz decided it would all be easier and had no epidural and cried for my Mother who gave birth to me at 11lb 11oz.

Not going to happen but would love to have gone for a third and had it at home and be more in control. I have such admiration for women who have baby in comfort of own home with only gas and air.

Good luck Good luck Good luck. hugs to you. :)

DS1 10lbs 10ozs gas and air
DS2 9lbs gas and air
DS3 10lbs 15ozs gas and air
DS4 9lbs 3ozs Elective c - section. My uterine muscles were too lax and he didn't turn. Can't imagine why!!

All three vaginal deliveries were average labours 4-5 hours and the pain was bearable.

DD 9lbs 14 oz, 9 hour labour (induced) gas and air only. (6 days overdue in the end)

Good luck with the section!

Don't know if he qualifies as big or what but DS was 8lb 12 oz, no time for any sort of pain releif or anything (not that it was needed). Waters broke at 8.30 pm. 1st contraction at 11 pm and he was born at 11.55pm
