...but that last BH made my eyes water. And the previous two weren't very comfortable, either.

Um. I have a surveyor coming round to the house on Monday and I also booked in to get my roots done for Monday afternoon.

We are trying to get DS through bath time and bedtime at the mo'.

And DH wants to go and get a takeaway after DS is in bed.

The house is in a state as well.

Look, this isn't a veery convenient time.

Okay, if things are kicking off, which I hope they aren't and bet they aren't now I've started a thread about it, how can I slow it down/stop it for a couple of days?

How quickly does your DH go from fast aslepp to firing on all cylinders?
I can go from sleep to full on sargeant major in under a minute but if I ever need to wak the other half I leave a good 5-10 minutes because he is not a good waker-upper.

when you fancy some hand holding and cuddles really would be my answer, could DH snooze on the sofa or similar in between needing him?
On a different note I do love co-codamol! Used to send me right of to sleep.

NicNocJnr · 01/06/2012 02:05

Hand holding and cuddles- you know what I mean, whatever would make things easier.
Also, whatever I've taken seems to have shut down my spelling centres, I apologise.
Is your pool ready to go?

MarmiteButties · 01/06/2012 02:06

I'd wake dh up, my first was a looong labour, dd was about 3 hours from induction till delivery.

openerofjars · 01/06/2012 02:06

Oh no, there it was all along. Can they do that? I can't remember from last time. I was at 3-4 mins & then a 7 min gap.

Yes, home birth, so just need to wake everyone up, no dash to hospital, we hope.

Ey up, NicNoc. Sorry, wasn't blanking you. Did you used to have another name?

Just going to go and put the kettle on for my mum & get the tea and biscuits out for the MWs.

No, I'm sorry I've always been NNJ...I'm not overly memorable! Grin But I do run into people quite a lot - I'm normally the 'I 100% agree with X' poster!

Phew! Glad cx are back.
But I have had contractions with all my pgs that were significant tightenings but didn't give me the pain, also found with good pain relief that at the begining they stopped 'hurting' but could feel them until a bit later on. And some that just didn't show up, alongside the ever so pleasant 3-in-a-row after the missed one. I find they get up to all sorts.

I was bouncing merrily on my birthing ball at this point! I was also watching the shopping channel...I don't recommend it!

openerofjars · 01/06/2012 02:21

Gosh, I do feel a bit spaced out. I think the painkillers have taken the edge off, a bit.

Do you think you could get your head down for a bit? Even just getting as comfy as you can on the sofa if you don't want to head upstairs and see if you drop off?

I always say I wish I got more sleep and make a huge note of it and then the next time from the very first twitch I'm daft as a brush and can't sleep. I get far too excited as by then I've usually been waiting ages and can't stand the suspense. Make a note of when you took your painkillers as well so you can tell DH when you are able to take more so he can deal with that while you are busy. If you want them later on.

NicNocJnr · 01/06/2012 02:30

Sorry, Annie! Unintentional contradictions, apologies.

AnAirOfHope · 01/06/2012 02:32

pelvis rotaitions and walking thru a contration help speed it up. its very exciting. relax and breath thru the contrations.

AnAirOfHope · 01/06/2012 02:37

Jars i would wake your OH as second biths tend to be faster. my first was 12 hours after 3cm dialated and my sceond was 3 hours from 3cm dialated.

openerofjars · 01/06/2012 02:46

Okay, gone one step back a bit: mum got here and is a bit wired and chatty. Has sent herself to bed and cx have started up again. Thank goodness. I think they we're politely waiting for her to go!

Ah, the cx want me to walk around and STFU. Good. Right, walking.

Can't do stairs as we have the creakiest old staircase in the world and DS is asleep.

All the lights are too fucking bright as well.

I have also read that most babies are born at night.

Do you know if your having a girl or boy?
