Just wondering what the first thing all you ladies said (or yelled) after giving birth.
My dp has constantly made fun of me since our ds was born in november, as I literally hollered 'it's over!!!!!' ...loud enough for unoccupied midwives at the station to dash in and congratulate us.
Nothing like the teary..'oh my gosh he's beautiful' i expected.
Little did i know it was far from over as i then had retained placenta and had to go into theatre and get a spinal block to have it removed..but thats another story....

"Dh, you have a son."

Goodness knows why I said "you" rather than "we", but it felt like I was giving him the biggest and best gift in the whole world. The one time I've seen dh in choke up with joy.

After 24 hours of labour and an emergency C I said something to the extend of, please take him to the nursery I want to sleep now, needless to say they woke me 2 hours later telling me that he is hungry, I thought they were nuts and inconsiderate...was pretty out of it...had, gas and air, pethidene, epidural and spinal block!

  1. Is it a boy or a girl? (Even though we found out the sex at the 20 week scan!)
  1. Is she ok?

  2. What do you mean 'have some more gas and air'? when I was delivering the placenta and getting stitched up - I've had the baby - I don't want to do anything else that's going to hurt!!
