I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

wow congrats kenobi sorry to hear of your trauma though, its something that is very fixable though isn't it? i know of someone who has a small hole in their heart and they suffer no ill effects whatsoever, in fact, he is quite the sportsman!!!!

joy keep sneezing, nice and hard. doesnt sound like it'll be much longer.

well i am well and truely losing my plug/having a show or whatever. it should come with a health warning as it is manky. who would have thought that kind of stuff was being stored up there. yuk!!!! not too sure but think my waters might be leaking a bit as well. trying to chill in the sun and ignore but difficult when you have a constant feeling of wetness down there!! lol. no cramps or pains to speak of so currently waiting it out in the sun.....

Just taking a break from washing and taking 'is it here yet?' phone calls...

ooo joygirl! starts cheerleading

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 14:39

Great to hear from you Kenobi I've been waiting for your news!
Congratulations on your lovely baby girl, so sorry to hear you have the worry of the hole in the heart, here's praying it's a little one. Do let us know how you get on.
Feek here's hoping you'll be in labour by tonight! Good luck!

artifarti · 27/03/2012 14:40

Kenobi - congratulations although sorry to hear of the hole in the heart worry.

Gosh, so much snot action! C'mon everybody!

Well, one way or another (and all being well) by this time tomorrow I will have two children Smile All is well with me and baby but there are no more ELCS slots until next Monday and I'm not happy to go to 40+16 (40+18 by dates!), given my history of dodgy placental conditions. I am also 2cm dilated and my cervix is soft and effaced so after the mother of all sweeps, it could still happen on its own but hey-ho, one way or another. I am off to drink raspberry leaf tea, eat Bombay Mix and bounce on my ball (inbetween checking for updates here!)

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 27/03/2012 14:42

Congratulations Kenobi :)
Joygirl and Feekerry, I shall not have this. I feel like everyone's at a party I'm not invited to Wink Well, by this time tomorrow I will have had the- last of my shame swept away-- my sweep which will hopefully get things moving. I am actually being gawped at in the morning on the school run as people can't believe I'm still here. Them and me both. 40+10, dd went to 40+11 but I'd already started induction by this time. Ho hum. I've bought some homeopathic pulsatilla so I feel I'm doing something, but no doubt my little sugar pills are all in the mind.

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 15:04

Ooh what's pulsatilla Fuckity?
Know what you mean about missing the party Sad

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 27/03/2012 15:08

It's a homeopathic remedy that's supposed to kick start labour properly if it's starting and stopping. Probably bollocks but worth a shot. I had a childbirth homeopathy kit from Neals Yard with ds, which may or may not have helped me have such a short labour. I don't normally go for 'woo' but what's the harm in trying. I've exhausted the raspberry leaf tea, I've had a curry which didn't even get my tummy moving, never mind a baby Hmm and pineapple gives me heartburn. This is my last ditch attempt

DreamingOfPeace · 27/03/2012 15:58

Oh, congratulations kenobi, I really hope the hole in the heart turns out to be minor. My dad has one, not diagnosed til adulthood and he's always been a runner! I hope it's of that scale... I'd be very interested in your pictures with 8 days til my ELCS...

I am feeling very heavy, lots of pressure in my pelvis, some strong period pain BH, clearly not going into labour though. Another one missing the party...

My dad has taken DD to the swings though, so lazing around.

Go joy go!!!! I hope it all gets going significantly quicker- maybe I'll be right yet in my 'baby before tea time' for you?! FX!

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 16:32

Fuckity you reminded me a friend gave me a homeopathy kit, have just dug it out and it contains pulsatilla! Only 3g of pulsatilla 2000 per tablet so have taken one and will take another one later. Just put clary sage on my bump too! Good job DD is at my sisters this afternoon Smile
Dreaming enjoy your lazing around you deserve it

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 16:34

As an aside, just bumped into a neighbour who basically just laughed at the sight of me and announced I am massive, and my baby is at least 9 and a half pounds. Stupid fucking woman.

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 27/03/2012 16:35

Dolly, have a look to see if there's any caulophyllum in there too. That's meant to do the same thing

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 27/03/2012 16:35

Dolly, have a look to see if there's any caulophyllum in there too. That's meant to do the same thing

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 17:08

It's got Cimicifuga which is very similar to caulophyllum apparently! Have boshed one of those too.
Also had 2 Kali Carb Smile

feekerry · 27/03/2012 18:10

dolly tell her to fuck off. Stupid woman. I had a text yesterday of a supposed friend saying 'cant believe how overdue you are now. You must be massive! So you'll be due an induction any day now wont you, what day?' needless to say I did not even grace that person with a reply. Idiot.

Joygirl78 · 27/03/2012 18:25

Agh, so slow!!!! Was doing really well, contractions every. 5 mins for 40 secs around lunchtime. Got back from assessment, by 2pm it had completely stopped. So frustrating?!!!!!! Been for mammoth 1.5 hour walk / hike with dh. Cramps are back, but not regular contractions. Ladies what should I do??? Hospital said they have to induce tomorrow morning if I'm not in established labour as my waters have gone.
Should I keep moving all evening/night in the hope of getting it moving and delivering tonight, or should I try and conserve energy and sleep????

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 18:55

Oh Joy how frustrating Sad I'd say conserve your energy but I also know if I were you I'd go against all sensible advice and get bouncing on my ball and going up and down the stairs!
Feek I've had very similar text messages that ask me when I'm being induced! Have decided to only tell family when I'm going in, the other buggers can just wait and leave me alone!

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 27/03/2012 18:58

I'd say sleep too, I know a lot of the reason I had interventions in my inducrion was the sheer exhaustion. I didn't sleep for about 3 days beforehand and it does take its toll. I've taken to ignoring texts now, and tbh I won't even be letting anyone know when we go in because I don't want them trying to text or call dp while we're in trying to get the latest.

MidnightinMoscow · 27/03/2012 19:26

Joy - sleep. My contractions started to really come after a two hour sleep in the hospital. Was like my body needed that final rest prior to the big event. Wishing lots of positive vibes.

Dolly - what a silly witch. Ignore, ignore. YOur baby will be here soon.

So lovely to see you all ladies, despite the overdueness of it all. Am still popping in and thinking of you all, you were fab support to me. Xx

Flisspaps · 27/03/2012 19:33

Joygirl Just to say, the hospital don't have to induce tomorrow morning. They will advise you to because of the increased risk of infection now that your waters have gone, but they cannot make you consent - the decision lies with you, and some people do choose not to take the induction at 24 hours if all appears to be well. Some hospitals offer up to 96 hours after your waters have gone if you're not showing any signs of infection.

The more anxious you feel about it (which is likely, given that you're now 'on the clock' rather than just letting nature do it's thing) the less likely you are to go into full labour anyway. Having a rest may allow your concious brain to switch off long enough to get things going.

Flisspaps · 27/03/2012 19:35

Dolly Tell her to fuck off if she says anything again. Or be really rude, and say 'yes, but at least mine is baby, you're just fat'. Not big, or clever but you'll probably feel better for a while Grin

kenobi Congratulations on your DD :)

Joygirl78 · 27/03/2012 20:14

Back to contractions. Every 5 mins or so, and about 40+ secs in length. But can breath through them and haven't needed tens yet. Sometimes they are coming quicker, but I reckon I can't be in proper established labour yet as although painful I'm coping ok.

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 20:14

Hey Midnight hope you're ok.
Sending healing vibes to your ravaged nips Grin
40+12 tomorrow. Arrrrrgggghhh! Never thought I'd go this far over Sad DH going away 2 weeks Saturday SadSad

DaydreamDolly · 27/03/2012 20:15

Fab Joy, you're back in action! Bet it'll progress quickly now! Exciting!

DreamingOfPeace · 27/03/2012 20:18

joy, this was me... I didn't go into labour but exhausted myself trying everything. I think that led to the interventions and third degree tear. Rest and sleep. I did hiking up a hill (alone!), running up/ down stairs, bouncing, jumping, curry, pineapple... It didn't get me into labour. I waited 30 hours before induction. Wonder now if i should have waited longer. DD born 57 hours after my waters broke, no signs of infection in her, they just monitored her temp 2 hourly for 24 hours (if she'd spiked a temp she would have been given antibiotics then)

DreamingOfPeace · 27/03/2012 20:19

X posts joy, you don't need my tuppence worth :-)
