I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

Mind if i join you? 39+6, cramps, tightenings, show, head so low i swear it should fall out! But has been 2 days of this now.....desperate, tearful, tired, need some understanding company

Joygirl78 · 08/03/2012 06:35

Stuff - we are with you. I also cannot walk now. DC1 mercifully at childminder today, but then I have her for 4 days (she's just 2). Argh! Luckily parents around, and hubby home at weekend.

Apparently it's a full moon tonight. Is it an omen???

This is the fed up and desperate thread: join the 'fun' :)

stuffthenonsense · 08/03/2012 06:58

Thanks Joygirl....my midwife believes in the full moon theory too, im just believing/trying everything now.

MidnightinMoscow · 08/03/2012 07:19

Good Morning.

Welcome Stuff, pull up a chair and a cuppa. Lots of friends who have had DC2 tell me that having a newborn and a toddler is easier than being heavily pregnant and a toddler which is good to hear.

Usual nights of cramps and sleeplessness. I was stressing about the size of the baby, having watched all those lovely little 6-7lb'ers on OBEM last night. I dread to think what it weighs now.

Fingers crossed for today/tonight all, you never know.

X

Lets hope today brings something for everyone. I have a DD 22 months too and i think it can't possibly be any worse than not being able to walk or lift her or go anywhere, a newborn must be easier?? right....eeek. My due day today and same as you Midnight cramps, sleeplessness.....c'mon baby

feekerry · 08/03/2012 07:30

Hello! I'm going to join in too. 38+4 today with my first. No cramps, no pains, no show. Baby not engaged and still wriggling about like mad. Have a feeling i'll still be pregnant for a long time:-(

MidnightinMoscow · 08/03/2012 07:32

Feek I had DC1 at 38+5, so not all first timers are late.

DS is 2.3, and is a complete handful.

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 08/03/2012 09:20

I'm 38+5 today too. I had a lot of cramping last night, some more show and a horrible upset tummy, but again it seems to have come to nothing this morning. The worst sensation for me is when he pushes right down on my cervix, it feels as though he is about to pop the waters, which makes me almost afraid to be in bed, I don't want them to gush all over my lovely mattress, even though it has a protector on it now. I'm home with my 3 yo today and have no plans or inclination to do anything more pressing than watch ceebeebies and try and coax him to have a nap later. I am thanking god for flexitime, dp is taking the day off tomorrow so will drop off and pick up the dc, and we'll spend the day doing all the things on my mad, last minute list. Ooo but now my cramps are starting up again. I hope there's something in the full moon theory, I really do. I have to agree that having a newborn is far easier than being this pregnant when you have dc already.

artifarti · 08/03/2012 09:36

Can I join you to moan please? 38+5 here too but DS didn't arrive until 42+3 and only then with the 'help' of a big knife so I don't hold out much hope of anything happening soon! I am also in the interesting position of having builders all over my house, finishing off the last bits of a renovation so actually it would be the worst possible moment for a baby to arrive, into chaos, dust and noise! But that doesn't stop me being tired, huge, moany and miserable. Moan, moan, moan... Grin

Joygirl78 · 08/03/2012 12:06

I am also moaning. After severe pain yesterday and baby fully engaged, I think it has moved up again overnight. I've had no more cramps, and all the back and pelvis pain has eased. I think I am going backwards.....l. Yesterday I was so uncomfortable, but at least I felt things were moving on. Today I feel as right as bloody rain. No.......

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 08/03/2012 12:10

My cramps are far worse when I get up and move about which I think is a positive sign, the problem is that I just cannot be arsed. I feel exhausted, I am up every hour in the night needing to pee and just generally being uncomfortable so the lure of the sofa is just too much. I'm going to wait til dp comes home tonight and use him as a leaning post for walking around with. I don't feel like eating either which is most unlike me Hmm I do feel nauseous, though that could conversely just be hunger. I don't know. Fed up pretty much does sum it up here too.

Rollerbaby · 08/03/2012 12:43

I feel bad moaning when I am on second day of doing absolutely nada and my little boy is being looked after and I have nothing to do (well sort of nothing). Apart from feeling huge it's not that painful down there as such so I don't think he's heavily engaged. They had a look at my cervix on Tuesday and everything looks normal but not about to go, so not expecting it really in the next few days. That said, off for sweeps from Sunday and discussion around induction for Thursday (although I could wait a bit longer if I wanted) so whatever happens it won't be long. Can you believe it I'm actually bored today, which is ridiculous when I have been longing for rest for ages!

MidnightinMoscow · 08/03/2012 13:56

Well, this is the place to moan...if you cannot do it here, where else ladies?Grin

With the amount of cramps/shows and pains happening I think someone will have some news soon and hopefully that will start a cascade of babies!

I just did something stupid, DH just called to say we have been turned down for our re-mortgage which we were hoping to pay for our loft conversion for. We need the extra bedroom as DS cannot share with the new one as his room is tiny. So I had a few tears in the middle of Boots. All very embarrassing.

On a more positive note I am having a sweep at 09.00 tomorrow but had a bloody show this afternoon.

I'm in the same position as you OP - counting down the available time to have a VBAC before a CS happens. I'm 34+1 with twins and have been getting some cramps/BHs/contractions as well as throwing up randomly one night plus an odd tummy this week, but was all only serious for a few days and has now mostly eased off. I've got just over 2 weeks before my CS, and hoping hoping hoping that I can get going in that time! (Mostly because I'm in such pain and getting to the very edge of my tether, whilst simultaneously trying to avoid another CS and trying to be selfless and keep them inside for as long as possible... :( )

With all the plug/cramps/pains that you've been getting it does sound promising, though I have no previous experience to compare with (My first was elective CS and I never had any BHs let alone anything else). But good luck!

And Rosebery - your story is very encouraging, I hope all of us are similar...!

woolly76 · 08/03/2012 14:23

I love this tread, very theraputic. Midnight, god i sympathise we gpt turn down for a loft conversion by planning a couple of months back and i cried heartily, we live in a tiny two up two down! Xxx

feekerry · 08/03/2012 14:33

oh i want some cramps or show or something!!! just something to indicate i'm moving in the right direction, but annoyingly every morning i wake up i actually feel better than the day before. in fact, i've been more and more physically active as the days go on. seriously concerned my body isn't going to know what to do when the time comes..... Shock

MidnightinMoscow · 08/03/2012 15:17

feek, my cramps have always gone by the morning...assuming that resting over night and laying still tails things off. You're body will know, believe me. I ca tell you a very embarrasing story with my first DC. I was admitted in early labour due to bleeding and so they sent DH home. After an hour of some contractions I went out to the MW and asked her to call DH as I thought "things are happening very quickly". I was 1 cm. Blush

Meant to wave and say hi to Arti, do join in and pull up a birthing ball. Can I get you a pineapple? Grin

Lemele, wow, twins how lovely. Its so hard being against the clock, and can really mess with your mind can't it.

I know wooly, we have had such a nightmare. Our neighbour is also in desent about the party wall agreement so thats costing us £££ extra and now this. So sorry to hear about the planning. What are you going to do? Can you try revised plans of a different loft or an extension? We are in a 2 up 2 down too and it can be cramped.

OP posts:
woolly76 · 08/03/2012 15:28

Midnight - it was the dorma that was refused think we will have to do an unofficial conversion as we cant get a mortgage due to me being part time self employed as i have a toddler and soon a baby, catch 22!

feekerry · 08/03/2012 16:28

lol midnight thats so going to happen to me!!!

currently sitting here sipping gaviscon advance constantly....the one complaint i have is the heartburn/acid reflux is getting worse by the day. really isn't nice. at all.

stuffthenonsense · 08/03/2012 17:49

Well, ive had a nice relaxing day, but no baby....just over 6 hours til due date...utterly fed up,which is daft as my babies are always late....but i so need this one to come on time, i absolutely cannot do induction this time, no way.

Kenobi · 08/03/2012 20:17

Can I join? I'm 39+5 but my last was 2.5 weeks over before I was induced and family history is against it - DM and DGM very late with all of theirs, 3+ weeks.

I'm getting tightenings and waves of nausea - is that a good sign? (she says hopefully).

Am hoping for a VBAC, but a lot against it. I would LOVE to have this baby soon.

Kenobi · 08/03/2012 20:18

Midnight, DD is 2.3 as well Grin

MidnightinMoscow · 09/03/2012 11:05

Well had my sweep. Not the most pleasant of procedures, but not too bad.

I am 1-2 cms, my waters are bulging through my cervix ( don't I just know it). Cervix was mid posterior. So advised to get moving.

So all thoughs cramps are doing something ladies.

Hope everyone else is ok.

OP posts:
artifarti · 09/03/2012 11:10

That sounds promising Midnight - nice long walk for you later Grin.

38+6 and can report no show, no cramps, nada. I don't even think of my due date as being next Saturday! I have until 40+14 to attempt VBAC or it's ELCS for me too. Ho hum.

Did the full moon work for anyone?
