sittinginthesun · 10/12/2011 11:13

Marking my place too. Good luck. X

MollyintheMoon · 10/12/2011 11:13

The very worst thing about a sweep imo is the whole lying there, legs akimbo, malarkey but you can't really avoid that when you're pregnant.

Oh, and my toddler appearing round the curtain with this face Shock and saying "Mummy, what's that lady doing? Mummy?"
"erm, go and sit down. I'll explain later"
"but what..."
"SIT DOWN" Blush

EdlessAllenPoe · 10/12/2011 11:17

ooh, and if you want natural third stage skin-to-skin and BF does help get it moving....

though the little snookums do like to sneeze up snotty water first before feeding.

CuriosityCola · 10/12/2011 11:43

good luck for the rest of today Smile

CarolCervix · 10/12/2011 11:58

today feels like a very good day to be born.

if you go for a sweep tell the MW before you are very nervous and ask her to go slowly. slow is much more gentle than rushing to get it over and done with quickly.

COME ON ISBN!

BiscuitNibbler · 10/12/2011 12:01

Marking place and wishing you good luck - it feels like a good day to be born!

PandaG · 10/12/2011 12:02

TheOriginalFAB · 10/12/2011 12:17

BIWII never said that. I said thank you Confused.

Blatherskite · 10/12/2011 12:18

Blimey, 3 threads! C'mon ISBN!! :)

TheOriginalFAB · 10/12/2011 12:22

BIWI - I just read back my post and I felt we should stop with the where-is-she? posts in case nickel really wanted some peace from us MN. I wasn't meaning no one should update!! We all want to know that all is well.

Nickel - sorry if I have offended you, or anyone and I hope you are having a lovely time with your friend and ISBN doesn't decide to come now to crash the party GrinWink.

DaydreamingOfAWhiteXmasDolly · 10/12/2011 12:49

What am I going to do when it's all over and there's no live birth thread left? X Factor is ending this weekend too I might have to interact with my family after that
Good luck though Nickel, staying positive for a home birth for you, and hope the sweep is successful and not too ouchie

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 10/12/2011 13:18

Oooh a third thread, glad you are OK Nickel, good idea to go with a careful sweep, I think Isbn is secretly loving the attention and wants to be an MN mini sleb! Xmas Grin

Pantofino · 10/12/2011 13:35

Checking in on the new thread! Fingers crossed the isbn puts in an appearance this weekend.

ElfOnTheShelf · 10/12/2011 13:37

cadelaide · 10/12/2011 13:41

nickelbabe, sorry to ask this on your birth thread, but how's trade? Grin

missboots · 10/12/2011 13:42

Good luck... hope it all happens soon!

pooka · 10/12/2011 13:42

Aw nickel babe, was only joking re the ragtime suggestion - think that along with the chipmunks would be the music least conducive to calm labour for me.

Grin

Whale music and hippy - if it floats anyone's boat, then that's great. I did hynobirthing with ds1 (second delivery), also antenatal yoga, homeopathic bith kit, tens and anything else I could think of, as an antidote to the first slightly more medicalised birth of dd (epidural, pethidine, but lovely still though I wanted more control and confidence second time). In the end he shot out like a rocket after 2 hr labour. Not much time for plans, but brilliant.

Sparklingbaubles · 10/12/2011 13:46

yay-you are possibly having 'the rummage' after all! Smile

MrsSnaplegs · 10/12/2011 13:50

cadelaide - seems quite busy - Friend says she's been rushed off her feet Grin

I did wake up this morning when DH was getting ready for work and decide that I needed to put a wash on. Which I did.
then when I went back to bed, i decided I needed to hoover downstairs, maybe upstairs and definitely clean up the dining table.
When I got up, I did the hoovering downstairs but was too knackered then to do anything else.

Just rang Triage to tell them when I'd be coming in - she knew it was me (which is really freaky when they do that!)(not Dot, this is the MW that did hte scan, think she is Marianne? Nice lady)
She told me that I had to see a doctor again today, so I told her i wouldn't see the one I saw on Thursday, She's not in today anyway. It'll be a different one.
I asked why I had to see a doctor again and she explained it was because of it being 14 days by NICE guidelines they have to explain everything again (and then said "I know you've heard it all before :) ")
I then told her that I was going to accept a VE and a sweep today, which she seemed happy with.

Of course (now we're going TMI), we hd sex last night, and all day it's been gunky down there. I'm going to be Blush Blush if it's still gunky when they do the VE. Blush
