I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

LittleDonkeyhadaMadHairDay · 01/12/2011 16:37

Found the thread!

Come on now nickel. Get on with it, or I shall start sending you youtube linkys. And you know how that will end Grin

largeginandtonic · 01/12/2011 16:52

Good news then. Things are probably starting. A rummage could possibly have told you nowt anyway. Things change quickly in the cervical region Grin

Sparkling the show is gross. MIne is like snot. Am thrilled. It started this morning after stomping accross the beach pebbles with the woofa.

Keeping your bum on the bed is sound advice while having a sweep. I second that. Trickier than you would think mind. I have another tomorrow morning (4th since Sat) I am seriously oping the boy comes out tonight so i don't have to go! The first 2 were ok, just as things progress it becomes more interesting Hmm

Come on baby babyNickel.

Sparklingbrook · 01/12/2011 16:59

My show must have fallen out in one go then Confused.

Good luck with all these imminent births. Grin

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 01/12/2011 17:02

I'm so excited and I don't even know you!!
My DS is only 13 weeks but I'm wondering if I need another already.....

nickelbabe · 01/12/2011 17:02

largegandt - i'm racing you.

You may post your labour on this thread if it happens first Grin

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 01/12/2011 17:05

anyway, i'm going home - i'll log on again from there.

(keep imagining things happening, it's not good!)

we're going to make a lemon meringue pie to take my mind off it.

Ooh a JOINT labour thread. You will win. Everyone always beats me. Dd2 just offered to pull him out. She is 2. That may give me the edge Hmm

Get thee home and rest. Have a hot bath and realx. He will come out when all is calm. Have you bought the baby an advent calendar? That'll do it. Dh bought the boy one...

Sparklingbrook · 01/12/2011 18:15

No Nickel it should be a pineapple meringue pie then sex and hot shower

nickelbabe · 01/12/2011 19:05

no, I haven't bought it an advent calendar.
Maybe that would make it come out? if it thought it had a treat to come out to?
Wink

We've had our tea, and i'm just fetching the ball to sit on.

Those twinges I was having earlier have subsided again. [sigh]

And we almost got run over by a twat woman driving into Sainsbury's - We started crossing the road, and I always keep an eye out for turners, saw this car indicate to come in - logic instinct tells you to hurry to get to the central reservation before the car turns - but the stupid woman decided that she wouldn't even slow down and nearly ploughed right into me! she had to slam her brakes on, it was that close!
Angry

Unfortuntaley, Isbn was blissfully unaware of this action, and remained calm and in situ for the whole thing.

I'm overdue and desperately wanting this one out (vbac, really want the chance to have a natural birth)- might live vicariously through your labour thread if you get to go into labour soon!

I had a mw appointment today and just realised afterwards I thought I was supposed to be offered a sweep - reading comments here maybe it was no bad thing I didn't have one. My next appointment is next thursday with a consultant to discuss induction/c section so it HAS to come before then!!

EdlessAllenPoe · 01/12/2011 19:25

Ok, December baby..

hooray for Nickelbabe :)

plenty of time before next thursday! i think the major sign before mine was feeling weird the night before....

usingapseudonym · 01/12/2011 19:43

You reminded me - I've just got my ball to sit on to and watching some "house" dvds... trying desperately to distract myself instead of randomly googing various pregnancy related things...

but stil have mumsnet open!

vamosbebe · 01/12/2011 19:51

sweep? sweep? what is this?

I've got my second hospy monitoring tomorrow (DS will be 1 week late) and hoping not to have to have anything internal done. I haven't had a single twinge or anything indicating he's ready to come out...

fingers crossed for you nickelbabe :)

MustControlMincepieOfDeath · 01/12/2011 19:52

I remember 40+5, and +6+7+8+9etc etc DS was born 41+6 Shock

MW told me on the antenatal ward that blow jobs are the way to go - apparently whatevers the chemical (cant remember name) in the sperm works faster if ingested....MW was not a man btw. DP looked me all hopefully, I naturally laughed in his face Grin

stripeywoollenhat · 01/12/2011 19:57

still skulking about my house, with dd2 travelling in the wrong direction... she obviously doesn't fancy exiting. i have made an exceptionally hot cashew nut curry for dinner... i do hope somebody's little fecker emerges tonight, even if it's not mine...

nickelbabe · 01/12/2011 20:20

you don't have to have anything internal done, vamos - you choose.
if you don't want it, say no. they can't force you, and they can't guilt you into it.

that reminds me of that Michael McIntyre sketch, and he said that his wife said "can't you just wank into the tea?" Grin

Mine was still 3/5ths palpable today - remember (as MW said) - it's the contractions that send the baby southwards - it could be free, and you could still go into labour that day.

We've finished making the lemon meringue pie and it's now in the oven. The recipe said "golden caster sugar" of which we have none (just normal) and i wasn't sure if we'd have enough normal, so we used demerara on the filling. It looks really dark brown, as you'd expect, but it tastes of lemon pie filling Grin really weird, but lovely.
I was standing up the whole time, hoping that might help procdures.
Of course, now I feel a bit sick (like period sick, not nausea sick)

So i've got a small glass of Rose wine, and am going to sit on my ball while DH washes the pots...

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 01/12/2011 20:24

I am wondering whether I should have turned the rummaging down now? They said do you want a sweep? I said yes-didn't think to say no. Blush

Your lemon meringue pie sounds very nice.

stripeywoollenhat · 01/12/2011 20:28

yum, lemon meringue pie... i've had a tiny bit of dp's beer (o'hara's ipa, delicious, in case anyone likes beer) and am feeling a little more forgiving of my recalcitrant unborn Smile

usingapseudonym · 01/12/2011 20:30

Oooh lemon meringue sounds good! I had a glass of wine too. Husband is working upstairs and I'm a bit bored!

vamosbebe · 01/12/2011 20:41

lemon meringue pie? jealousy overload :(

I've spent the last two days making masses of freezer-friendly food for when we get back home with a wiggling newborn, have neglected to make anything 'naughty'!!

Put up all Christmas decorations and turned on the lights today. Did a crap load of cleaning too to try and encourage DS to get a move on... to no avail.

I shall sit on my bouncy ball with X-Files and keep the thread opn :)

usingapseudonym · 01/12/2011 20:47

I've just eaten a lot of crisps (silly big packet I kept refilling my "little" bowl from it...) Oooops.

I keep thinking I ought to write Christmas cards really so they're done!

nickelbabe · 01/12/2011 21:24

yes, she said to me" do you want me to have a look?" ans "do you want a sweep?"
she'd already told me that i could say no - I think it's important that they do tell you that, because often, it doesn't sound like a choice - it sounds like a "this is what we're going to do".

The lemon meringue pie was lovely. We've just eaten a portion.
It didn't taste completely lemony - because of the demerara sugar, more like a toffee lemon flavour.
yum yum yum Grin

i had to wipe the kitchen worktop to make the pie, and i thought the pie-making itself would do something.
I don't think it did.
but my side is aching rather a lot, and i had a long-lasting ache in my tum at nine o'clock. (it lasted about 30 seconds)
