I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Hello to all expectant Mummies. Xmas Grin

Now, all you babies, listen to MrsChristmas. We are all very excited about your imminent arrivals, so could you all please hurry up.

Thank you.

CaptainSexypantsMcFantastic · 05/12/2011 12:58

Sounds like progress. I thought my early labour with A was food poisoning so you never know....

I've been at portage group all morning trying to refrain from checking up on you in the hope it will have all kicked off by now. I aso had to sit on my hands to stop myself logging on during the several times I was up in the night (honestly, who buys a house with only a downstairs loo!? Did I not realise I'd have to walk past the laptop to get to the bathroom?)

grumble grumble I promised I wouldn't get completely obsessed with a parenting site again, it always ends badly :o

CointreauVersial · 05/12/2011 12:59

Ahh, the old nesting instinct. I seem to remember pulling up a row of plants that were annoying me, then I had a sudden urge to make a rice pudding (it was disgusting, and I haven't made one since).

Keep busy, nickelbabe, that's the only way!

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 13:05

Grin captain.
I feel like it's food poisoning. [boak]

It's lovely to have you here. :)

maybe the reason I haven't had a proper nesting instinct is because i'm still working? like it's keeping me busy so i don't have to fret about tiny little things like cleaning. Grin

Good news then (kind of). I know it's probably the last hting you want to do but do make sure you eat. It's one thing I really wish I'd done differently as by the time contractions kicked in I was already weak and wobbly which in itself made me feel too nauseous to eat.

Second time round I had a big bowl of pasta and cream cheese when I started to feel like things were imminenent and my contractions made me feel much less sick as a result (although I've never been able to even look at pasta and cream cheese since so do choose something you won't miss too much to eat :) )

Poledra · 05/12/2011 13:18

Don't worry about lack of nesting instinct, Nickel - I only ever had sit-on-my-arse-and-eat-cake instinct! I gave into it, of course - it was for the good of the baybee!

usingapseudonym · 05/12/2011 13:27

I made millionaires shortbread this morning. And the house looks ok (well better than usual). When I was in manic phase I did gardening (?!) and woke my husband up one Saturday to say we HAD to go to Ikea that day to get more storage for toddler/baby stuff. Hmmm. I'm beginning to think I am just destined to be forever pregnant!

We've booked a cleaner for 6 weeks for "after the birth" as my husband is likely to be away and we don't have much support. She's starting tomrorrow. Oops. I thought I'd well and truly have a baby by then! Still it should be nice and clean for when I come home right...

EdlessAllenPoe · 05/12/2011 13:28

my nesting turned me into a Tazmanian devil wielding cleaning equipment. I growled at DH for so much as leaving things on his chair.

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 13:30

Grin at Pol

I've got a bit of annoyance in my lower side, but i'm ignoring it.

I think Nickel is a bit like a watched pot, I think we should all step away from the thread for a few hours and when we come back she'll be ready to rock n roll.

Don't mean to pressure you or anything but DS3 goes into hospital tomorrow night and I don't know how long we'll be there or what the mobile signal will be like...

Re parents coming down, mine were a 5 hour drive away, I had DS1 at 10pm and they were there for 10am visiting the next morning, I have a feeling that they set off as soon as DH phoned. It was in the old days of visiting so there was a 2 hour slot from 10-12 and one from 4-6 and DH had to share it with 7 other people in a hospital with a 2 visitors per bed policy (not that I'm still bitter, no no no, it was nearly 12 years ago I'm fine)

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 05/12/2011 14:27

did someone say something?

Xmas Grin
lostinwales · 05/12/2011 14:34

sorry Xmas Grin

EdlessAllenPoe · 05/12/2011 14:36

right i have to do the school run.

Typically, this will be when interesting stuff happens. there is always something interesting on the radio at 2.40 ish.

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 14:36

I also have a friend who is coming to help with the birth, and every couple of days she texts me with "you can't do it this day, but I'm free this day"
she's got a day off tomorrow, so tonight would be good, cos then she can also look after the shop until my other friend arrives to cover!
(this is all so complicated, and I can't plan it!!!!)
