I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Any news?

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 21:54

it would have been snowing this time last year.

I can't hold on till the 16th.
It will come this week, and hopefully before thursday.

although, on saturday, my dad helpfully told me to wait until this Friday, because his check-up is on thursday, and that's when he'll be told if he's okay to drive. Whic hsounds to me like they're planning to come down her immediately the baby's born ShockShock
I was kind of hoping they'd wait at least a couple of days! (in fact, i thought they'd wait a week.... )

Nickel, its my birthday on the 7th, just so you know Xmas Grin I hope you have your LO before that though

Bluetinkerbell · 04/12/2011 22:04

Don't tell them when the baby arrives! Wait a few days! But obviously do tell us! :)Praying for a safe arrival for isbn!

CuriosityCola · 04/12/2011 22:05

Setting 'a' is for all the time use. Setting 'b' is for a contraction. Then just whatever number level you want. It all seems like a surreal dream now. Did I post the instructions? I put dh in charge of it to make him feel useful Grin

CuriosityCola · 04/12/2011 22:13

Actually dh is saying that there was A,B,C and each one had different levels. I can just remember that there was a button I had to press when contracting Blush

usingapseudonym · 04/12/2011 22:24

Don't think I will be tonight somehow... see you all in the morning!

lostinwales · 04/12/2011 22:28

nickel if I may presume to offer you advice Grin. When I had DS1 I hadn't thought beyond him appearing much and so was surprised into having my parents, DH's parents his two brothers and sister all descend for a visit within 12 hours of him being born. Now might be the time to mention it if this isn't what you want (it wasn't for me, I was much more vocal before having DS2 about wanting some time alone as a family).

Solo · 04/12/2011 22:29

nickelbabe! come on!!! we are waiting! :)

CaptainSexypantsMcFantastic · 04/12/2011 23:03

lurks noisily

See what you've made me do Nickel? It starts off as some harmless Facebook stalking (but let's face it, there's none of the good stuff on there), then it progresses to some harmless MN stalking and before you know it I've done what I swore I would never do again and signed up to a parenting forum.

I'm at the top of a slippery slope here. Grin

growing3rdbump · 04/12/2011 23:25

Yes defo voice your preferences now! I was lucky enough to have the in laws waiting outside the delivery suite when I gave birth to dd1.

To top that, they arrived at our house just an hour after ds1 was born at home ! I was still sitting unwashed etc and not at all expecting visitors. I told DH not to let them in to living room where I was Xmas Angry

Dh was quite offended when I said I didn't want his family turning up after dd2's birth (also at home Hmm, needn't have worried though as they ended up on babysitting duties with the kids.

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 04/12/2011 23:45

still no nickelbaby?
Come on baby nickel, we want to know what you are. Am most disappointed you weren't born on dd's birthday but he ho!

FellatioNelson · 05/12/2011 03:07

Is he holding out to be baby Jesus? Hmm COME ON. BORING NOW.........................

Sorry Nickel. Grin I know it's even more boring for you!

Shall we start singing Why Are We Awaiting? Slow hand claps etc? That might shame baby into hurrying up.

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 03:35

Curiosity yes, i got he instructions, thank you. (they were complicated!)
there are 3 settings and 2 modes within each setting. (yo uwere right with the A,B and then there were levls L1, L2 and L3)

lost - thankfully, they're 180 miles away, so it takes them a long time to get here.
I will just tell them to wait a day or two.

captain - well done my lovely, now you can stick around and become completely obsessed aquainted with the site. (love the name, btw!) (and thank you for coming over Grin )

I hope something shames the baby into turning up. Angry
I am being restles tonight, and i feel sick (that might have been the garlic bread)
Before I went to bed, i was having huge pains, but they were stabbing pains caused by a foot or knee, and then, when i thought it had stopped using me as an internal football, it must have landed on a nerve, because then I was getting stabbing pains in my left-hand-side like a stitch, but further round to the front.
It was bloody agony! (but not a contraction, so Hmm )

Just checking in as i'm awake! No sign of baby here either! Funnily enough mine's been moving about painfully too! Right. Back to trying sleep again!

PandaG · 05/12/2011 07:34

checking in before I go to work. Hope you've progressed by the time I come home nickle (and others!)

KnottyLocks · 05/12/2011 07:35

Sparklingbaubles · 05/12/2011 07:44

Morning all. Today could be the day please. Smile

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 05/12/2011 07:47

Nickle are you getting enough sleep?

Whenever I check in you are posting at odd time in the early hours.

PestoFestivio · 05/12/2011 08:03

Mornignignignginginging all Grin

And where are our Festive Bebes today?

CarolCervix · 05/12/2011 08:56

Are we nearly there yet?

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 09:08

I don't think i am getting enough sleep MrsDV - i keep waking up.
(I got up about 8 times in the night last night, but I did only post once)

after that post last night/this morning, I had a horrid time of it (a very runny poo. don'tcha just love TMI ) and nearly was sick. I had to brush my teeth to get rid of it.

It'll be funny if pseudonym and I go into labour at the same tiem.
Grin

Anyway, guess what, i'm up for work, ready to get dressed, and nothing's happening!
Poor DH is desperate to get his fortnight off work! Grin

I'll sign in again from work.

Thinking of you nickelbabe! I've noticed you on various threads and thought you were based in Nottingham, which I know v. well, but you are in Kent in fact.

All the best! Xmas Smile

Do not let all the, "Are you STILL here?" questions get to you. Snap right back at them with a rude retort.

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 05/12/2011 10:36

Nickel loose bowels and throwing up are often a sign of labour .

Don't go to work, you'll only be home again in an hour Xmas Wink.

nickelbabe · 05/12/2011 10:37

I live in Kent, but I'm from Nottingham.
I moved her about 9 years ago - I was brought up in Carlton, and lived in Radford when I left home until I moved down here. :)

thanks for the wishes :)

I am determined today is the day.
I just had to set something on my phone (which i was supposed to do this morning but completely forgot Blush ), and I thought "today's the 5th. I like the 5th of December, That's a good date." don't know why, though!
