I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

"of course, some members of the congregation weren't quite so unannoying. I just ignored them as best i could. Mad woman made comment "when's the baby coming?" "i don't know" "do you want a boy or a girl?" "i don't care" (she actually is mad woman, though, she's mentally disabled so i can't really do anything except walk away )"

Umm, I am not sure I understand? You seem desperate to involve strangers into every single part of your (so far very slow) birth thread. And you belong to a church? And you talk about people above ^, who know you and are sweet and interested and you write that about them?! AMAZING.

Good Luck

Anyone else?

My friend is having a baby on wed and I'm not going to be able to get newborn snuggles in RL, as it appears my DC have chickenpox. In theory I've had it so I should be fine to wash hands and go see baby, but she's a worrier so I think it's out the question.Sad

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 20:40

calypso - at this stage, i'm just being a ranty woman. i am hormonal, and tired.
I did walk away, and of course I wasn't that rude to her in real life! that's me just letting off steam!

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 20:43

oh, and PS - until I became pregnant, most of the people in my church would have nothing more to say to me than "hello" - i don't think they care that much about me, and most of them, I have to ask DH who they are, because they've never expressed interest in talking to me when I was just a normal person.
(obviously, that's not all the people in the church, just the ones that never passed more than the time of day with me before)
why should i care about what they think about the baby? and why should i tell them the intracacies of the pregnancy when they never bothered to talk to me before?

You have full permission to rant on your own birth thread nickel. I haven't experienced the 'joys' of being overdue so can only guess how fed up you are. Sad

adewonder · 04/12/2011 20:46

Lurking on this thread hoping to identify similar symptoms, tho am just past 37wks so am being ambitious. Just wanted to say good luck to nickel and all...and calypso, there's no need to make a comment that sounds so downright bitchy. I'd wind your neck in if I were you.

PelvicFloorOfHighTensileTinsel · 04/12/2011 20:49

calypso - why so bitchy? If you don't like it perhaps hide the thread instead of posting unpleasant messages.

nickel - I think I probably qualify as someone who's never 'talked' to you before but hope it's ok to hang around. I like live birth threads!

Poledra · 04/12/2011 20:50

Oh FGS, Nickel, haven't you had that baby yet? You do realise I've lost on the sweepstake now. Some people have no consideration for others....

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 20:51

May not be ambitious ade. DS1 arrived at 38 weeks. SmileHe was fully cooked. Grin

CuriosityCola · 04/12/2011 21:04

Nickel, you are allowed to rant. Don't worry about it. I was a delight Grin at 4 days overdue, so can't imagine how you are feeling.

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 21:12

thanks Pol , i don't think i'll have it in the next few hours either!
Grin

Curiosity thank you for the loan of the tens machine - still trying to work out how to use it! Grin Thanks

I went at 40+7, to the pub, had a large glass of wine then we collected a chinese takeaway. It didn't make any difference but it made ME feel better.

Alouisee · 04/12/2011 21:17

Actually I think a large glass of wine might just do the trick if you consider how it affects your insides you when you havn't had a drink for a while.

However I'm sure it is not medically recommended.

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 21:17

yeah, i had another half a can of beer today.
that's two in two days.
makees me feel better too Grin

Hi Nickel (and girls), I've been lurking in the background for the last couple of days like the others. . . waiting patiently for baby Nickel....do you know what sex baby is and do you have any names picked for dc yet? that you are willing to share with us
PS - good luck! Xmas Smile

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 21:24

thanks :)
I'm mainly wishing it to hurry up now because I want to use the christmas smileys and do my christmas name change (which i've sworn not to do until it's born!)
we don't know if it's a boy or girl, but we have picked names.
:)

My Mum tells me that when she was expecting me it was common for pregnant women who were anaemic to be told to drink a can of stout a night. Now I wonder if I could think of a medically beneficial reason for me to have a large G&T each night ...

Pantofino · 04/12/2011 21:26

I am trying to do the sums - dd was due Feb 29th 2004 (yes leap year baby) but born March 11th....She is top of the class so I hazard a guess that pub wine and sweet and sour king prawn balls never had any adverse affect. Grin The people in the pub were just DYING for my waters to break there an then.....

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 04/12/2011 21:29

hold up till the 16th!! tis a good day to be born Smile

MustControlMincepieOfDeath · 04/12/2011 21:30

Nickel, I don't think that even counts as a rant...it was a brave person who dared even ask me what the time was when I was a week over.. Xmas Grin

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 21:32

nickel under no circumstances hold up til the 16th.If you have the baby this week it may not have to share the mantelpiece with Christmas cards every birthday.

Blatherskite · 04/12/2011 21:33

DD will be 2 on the 17th. It started snowing on the day she was born in 2009 :)

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 21:36

I am off to bed Nickel and all other overdue ladies. Maybe tonight's the night?

x

Pantofino · 04/12/2011 21:37

Pantofino · 04/12/2011 21:38
