I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

I'm sure that singing is really good for unborn babies (just made that up) all that oxygen in your lungs has to be a good thing.

Am I the only one who wants Nickels waters to break in church? Xmas Grin

largeginandtonic · 04/12/2011 08:46

Crikey. I keep reading all about these women who have no idea they are in labour and the baby just pops out. I have never found this to be the case and am extremely Envy about them all.

Sorry to hear it has not kicked off yet Nickel. The latent bit partic on a first baby is incredibly slow going for most people. Not what you want to hear i am sure. Hopefully your cervix is softening and effacing, getting ready for the baby to put his head nice and firlmy on your cervix and get the contractions going.

I am close to tears this morning. Have been up since 5 with pains that woke me. Kept dozing and thinking any minute now... Blardy dog started pacing an being irritating so i have got up and made 4003 rounds of toast to feed the kids. Am now sat here pissed off that it has all come to NOTHING AGAIN.

I have a sneaking suspicion he is posterior or his head is actually too big to fit in the pelvis and apply it's self to the crvix to kick it off properly Sad Midife at 1030 for another bloody sweep. < sob >

Sorry to be miserable. Hormones are a bitch.

Niggly babies= no fun.

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 08:46

Let's think positive. By this time next week you will all be holding your newborns. Smile

DutchOma · 04/12/2011 08:47

I should hope so ALouisee.

TheOriginalFAB · 04/12/2011 08:51

I am very cross with BabyNickel.

Make the sign and write on it The baby is being very naughty and I realise it hasn't been born yet. Hmm

CarolCervix · 04/12/2011 08:54

lots of stuff here about baby positioning and how to get the little buggers to shuffle around into a better position.

usingapseudonym · 04/12/2011 08:59

I'm taking toddler to church today. Think if I sit quietly at the back people will ignore me?! Come on babies

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 09:04

yes, there are some good tips on there.

My dance teacher did loads of hip circles to get her DS front to back.
(you have to pull your stomach in at the fonrt, as if you've been punched in the tummy, then move it round to one side, then let it all go like you've had too much christmas dinner, then move round to the other side, and just keep going like that. the idea being that your body tells the baby to turn around a bit until its in the right place. :) )
I've been on all fours when I've felt it moving round - the worst position for me is sitting on the settee, cos I can feel it movign round to match my position. Sitting on a dining chair backwards is good too.

C'mon NickelBaby! Time to come out Grin

largeginandtonic · 04/12/2011 09:07

I am trying to absorb the positivity.

They have to come out. Before Christmas at least Grin

Off to wash my hair and try to ignore children. They always fin me in the shower with some very important question. DD1 has just come to me asking about her birthday. It is JULY! I have sent her away with a withering look.

Hoping i have something positive to add after the midwife. Maybe after 7 children i will become one of those (as far as i'm concered) magic women who will be 8cm and have the baby 42 swconds later Grin

Akiram · 04/12/2011 09:12

Largeg&t whilst DC3 came out with relative ease DC1 was 15days late.
Actually perhaps not to mention that bit oops.

Akiram · 04/12/2011 09:14

perhaps better not to mention that

PontyMython · 04/12/2011 09:19

Good grief I expected that after 25 pages Nickelbaby would have arrived! Hmmph.

Hurry up little one Xmas Smile

youtalkintome · 04/12/2011 09:33

Well i woke up at 4 with regular contractions that weren't really painful passed another alien (show) went for a wee about 10 times and was convinced that i was in labour, cleaned the kitchen out washing away pottered till 6, decided i'd try and get a bit more sleep and then woke up a few mins ago with nothing Angry although this is how labour with ds started.

Today i'm going for a big walk buying Ils christmas hamper stuff and having a dinner party tonight to distract myself. Had sex twice yesterday (massive effort) but it clearly did something so shall be making time for that today. The pressure in my bottom is horrible but i don't think babies even engaged. To be fair i'm only 3 days over which is nothing i know.

Nickel you should consider that rummage.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 04/12/2011 09:38
Shock

No baby? Awwwwwwwwww.

I was going to put the decorations up today. Thats going to be hard if I have to keep hovering over the lap top!

ElfOnTheShelf · 04/12/2011 09:48

I woke up at 7.20am with period pain and immediately thought, ooooh one of the girls has/is having their baby and i'm having sympathy pains only to find that isn't the case Sad You girls are saints although when the mw tells you how long your labour was she won't count all this palava Angry I was very annoyed having had 3 days worth of labour (contracting every couple of mins to no avail) but to be told it was 22 hours or something - ggrr. They only count it from 5cm i believe (or perhaps 3cm). All this back pain and niggling pain is doing something so feel comforted by that, you will all be holding your babies this coming week (if not tonight) Smile

Nickel, church will distract you so will prob be the best thing. Have some serious withering looks at hand though and dish them out liberally Grin

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 04/12/2011 10:09

I KNOW! In the old days you could tell everyone about your three day labour. Now you get a measly 6 hours or something because they only count the last bit [humph]

girlsyearapart · 04/12/2011 10:16

Oh still no more babies then..

My boy is lovely though has no name yet.

Born after managed to contract my way down the corridor of the hospital get on bed examined at 9cm waters went out he came.

Car journey not fun couldn't sit down was on my knees facing backward holding headrest..

FourThousandHoles · 04/12/2011 10:19

Ooooh an overdue niggly latent labour thread, how exciting, thanks ladies for providing entertainment and suspense for days Grin

As a niggly extended labourer myself, you have my sympathy, hope things get moving soon and you're snuggling with your baby by the end of the day.

MrsDV, according to the midwives I was in labour with dd2 for 12 hours. Bollocks. It was a good couple of days of active pains with a load of crappy tightenings before that. I know best.

youtalkintome · 04/12/2011 10:25

Girls you lucky thing and well done for the 9cm, that car journey is a bitch isn't it Grin.

Does your baby have a lovely wrinkly kissable neck? eek I love a newborn. Have you a shortlist for names?

TheOriginalFAB · 04/12/2011 10:36

I am clearing out FABBoy's room. I would like a baby for when I am done. Thank you Grin.
