I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

I've had some sleep.
I woke up about 20 minutes ago, rahter annoed that nothing has woke me up et.
I went to the toilet and got a drink of water.

I don't know what's happening now.
No massive "pains" like before, but my back's aching again, now I've woekn, and now i'm sitting here typing, i'm feeling rather constricted.

It's possible that thigns have been going on while I slept, but who knows?
Confused
(i hope this isn't going to be going on for days - i don't think i could stand it!!)

Hi nickel! I'm doing my nighttime wake up too. Just thought i'd check on my phone how you are! Nothing to report here sadly . I'm going to see if I can get back to sleep . . .

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 03:54

I'm trying!
I don't want to sleep agian, becuase everything seems to slow down when I'm asleep!
I wish I could see if something was happening. though i might have a flappy fanjo or something
it's very strange, all this stuff happening inside and not being able to tell what's going on.

Are you in pain?

OP posts:
usingapseudonym · 04/12/2011 04:04

My backache is definitely painful now but not hugely so if that makes any sense! Aware of it like period pain. Not getting any contractions though. Are yours still coming?

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 04:07

it does make sense.

I think i might be in the same stage as you!
I don't think they are now.
But the back ache was enough to wake me up sufficiently to sit here!
Isbn's been moving around too, so I was worried that it's not moving downwards, jsut hanging around in its usual posistion.

my back is really, really very uncomfortable.
:(

Anywy, i'm going to try to go back to bed.
hopefully, we'll both have moved on by the morning.

No nickel - the flappy fanjo comes afterwards my dear. Wink

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 06:19
Grin

thanks!

I've been in and out of sleep now since i went back to bed - and a horrid dream that a very short bloke who was on my coacg to the train station had taken a shine to me, and wanted to kill me with poison loaded into a pen thing that shot like a gun.
the security men were laughing at the situation, making out htat he wasn't athreat, and kept lettign him walk near me.
and they tried to disarm him with a pin. Hmm
I woke up again having been snoring like a wild boar!

but i don't don't feel like i've had any more signs, and my back doesn't hurt any more.
but i feel like i'm now made of lead.

this is getting very boring now. Hmm

Aw Nickel, as me ould mother used to say

'When the apple is ripe, it'll fall'

Just thought i'd impart some of her wisdom to you so it could annoy you as much as it did me Grin

Seriously though chuck, you can'r be pregnant forever. It'll happen.

Akiram · 04/12/2011 06:35

Aw poor you.
With DC3 I experienced the same as you. Lots of tightenings but then would ease off. My friend said every contraction/tightening now is one less when in full labour.
I had a week of feeling like this. When labour finally started properly it was relatively quick and very straightforward.
Good luck! Smile

Akiram · 04/12/2011 06:41

Oh and I have not had a show with any of my DC.
With DC2 my waters broke and delivered 12hours later.
With DC2 I didn't thinkI was in labour but midwife was in area (I was having a homebirth) so came and checked me and found I was 8cm dilated. Waters went and 15mins baby was here.
So maybe there is alot of "behind the scenes" stuff going and once you're body decides now is the time it will go full throttle!

stripeywoollenhat · 04/12/2011 06:45

woken up a while ago by really rather painful contractions but they're much less intense now that i'm upright.... hoping it'll all tail off again as we're going to have to take dd to the doctor this morning, three hours of howling and pain in the night, think maybe an ear infection. kind of worried about leaving her with my mum in this state (mum a bit too crocked for carting her around).

sod's law, i believe they call it.

nickel, go back to bed if it's not hurting too much. i would but i'm afraid to lie down and i don't want to wake dp and dd, who're both finally asleep up there

fraktious · 04/12/2011 08:15

Just to encourage you my friend had niggly pains for 3 days, lost a bit of blood so went to get checked over, hooked up to a monitor which showed strong contractions, examined and was told she should be ready to push in a few minutes.

Good luck!

ExquisiteChristmasCake · 04/12/2011 08:23

Right marking my place while I've found it! Team Nickel Grin

hackneyzoo · 04/12/2011 08:35

Just marking a place on this thread.

Nickel, you are doing really well, my labour/pre labour seemed to last forever with DC3, but like Fraktious, when I was finally examined I was 8cm!

Stripey, I hope you are doing well, sorry DD is not well, hope she gets sorted, poor girl, DS has nightmare ears and its awful seeing him in pain. Sending you labour vibes (for later on!)

Good luck everyone, this is a lovely thread!

Sparklingbaubles · 04/12/2011 08:36

Morning nickel and all other overdue ladies.

nickel is it maybe time for that rummage after all? Grin

KnottyLocks · 04/12/2011 08:39

Morning. Smile

CarolCervix · 04/12/2011 08:40

Aw Nickel - you are doing so well. This early latent phase is so shite and it can go on for weeks. But you will be getting there.

what are your plans for today?

nice walk?

lunch out?

afternoon nap?

growing3rdbump · 04/12/2011 08:41

I also had this with DC3 - kept thinking things were starting and getting very fed up!!! Dc1 and 2 were both 2hr labours from the start, so I wasn't too impressed with all the messing about DC3 did! Anyway, it all did eventually start properly a few days later and she was born within 2 hrs also Grin

Good luck - it won't be long!

CarolCervix · 04/12/2011 08:42

and Stripy

and AreYouTalkin

who else is having a baby on this thread?

nickelbabe · 04/12/2011 08:42

Akiram - i don't want a week of this! Shock

stripey you were prbably contracting in your sleep.
Your ppor DD :( I hope she feels better soone. - maybe she's having ear pain becuase you're not having pain! (ie your pain has been passed on to her - sympathy pains!) I hope it moves quickly for you today too.

I'm up now, and am definitely going to church. I rahter tersely just asked DH to tell people if anyone asks about the baby to tell them no it's not fucking here yet, but he said "i can't stop people asking, that's just people, and it's pretty bloody obviosu it's not here yet" - so I've asked him to say "please don't ask about the baby, she really fed up"
Like he will Hmm. this is going to be a bloody nightmare.

still, the theory is that doing something (like going to church) will take my mind off it, and maybe keeping active will help (seeing as lying down and sleeping makes my body think it can just stop what it's doing!)
it will take my mind off it if people don't talk to me about it.

can i make a big sign and attach it to my head, maybe?
