I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Gah panic over post bath it all seems to have tucked back up inside Blush. stripey that's probably the first time i've had a good look since i had 9lb2 ds and got a second degree tear, there is bits actually missing! I'm not so sure I actually want to go into labour now anyway.

Shows mean nothing in this house Grin i usually manage one a couple of weeks before labour has never meant anything. Had a small one at 29 weeks this time because of excessive coughing, grim.

Nickel I hated the TENS, the only time i used it was 7 years ago it had no cover on the dials every time i had a contraction i needed a wee i'd get up, the dials would get knocked and i'd be bloody electrocuted. The indignity of it all was too much, never bothered with one the last time. I'd second the bath every time or a nice massage/foot rub.

My baby is never coming out i'm not even having braxton hicks anymore, i'm too tired tonight anyway.

Is it ok if I have no idea what Cervix means when she says 'think norway'?

Sending everyone happy labour vibes. No more for me so I'm enjoying waiting for your first nickel, best thing ever (when you get there, eventually Grin been there got the t shirt, he's 12 in a few weeks and I can still remember how frustrating every day overdue was)

CarolCervix · 03/12/2011 21:35

Norway - loads of fjords and a crinkly coastline, all in and out around a small area.. but when straightened out and stretched it's actually massive.

lostinwales · 03/12/2011 21:36

Oh and btw I have had three now, last one 9lb 11 and I never got the courage to get a mirror and check what was going on down there what's done is done and I'd rather live in blissful ignorance personally Grin

lostinwales · 03/12/2011 21:38

Ooh, great image Cervix, wish you'd been my midwife (although in my head you look like my favourite one from when I had DS2)

PositiveAttitude · 03/12/2011 21:41

Grin at Norway - never heard that before!

youtalkintome · 03/12/2011 21:44

Best advice anyone ever gave me was more or less what Carol has just said to you, when i was in labour MW came out and i was niggly didn't know if i was in labour or not, she said i was 2-3 cm, she said i could either walk the floor and get labour going and have baby tomorrow or i could take 2 co codamol go to bed and have baby tomorrow. Went to bed had sex and then had the best nights sleep ever waters went about 11 and things went really well, was holding ds at 11pm and felt fresh as a daisy. Whereas dd, my first sat up all night fiddling with tens, 2 excited to sleep etc she was born 2 days later and I was psychotic with exhaustion not the best state for caring for a baby.

While you can sleep everytime.

Carol deffo a Norway but with what looks like the Swiss alps making an apperance Wink

I loved my tens machine with my last, got me to fully dialated, was a good one designed for labour though!

I was told for max effect to put it on early, it pulsated constantly and I pressed a boost button at the start of each contraction, gradually working my way up in intensity,I knew when to take it off when even the max power did nothing to help!

They do need to be positioned correctly as well! Also felt like a weather girl with my little button! Grin

usingapseudonym · 03/12/2011 21:59

Oooh hadn't realised it was your first Nickel! I'm even more excited for you now :) I've already got a lovely toddler but it was induction/ c section so this (hopefully) will be my first natural labour experience.

My back pain is coming and going in intensity and getting "worse" but not impossible or really bad. Nothing else. Need to go to bed soon. Sigh.

mummynoseynora · 03/12/2011 22:06

any more contractions nickel?

LittleDonkeyhadaMadHairDay · 03/12/2011 22:10

Need to go to bed, sooo want to stay up and watch the action but needs must, will be on first thing. love and prayers nickel! :)

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 22:15

i'm not convinced about the tens.
it's lovely for a little while, then it gets annoying.
I had it on for a while on one side of my back ,which has been hurting more than the other. but then it wasn't doing so much, so i turned it up, but i didn't like it turned up, so i turned it off.

my back is really achy.
i don't know if i've had another contraction, so of course i'm worrying about that.
Confused
i just feel constantly achy now.
my back's aching, but my front doesn't seem to be as much.

I did have a quick look at my fanjo in the mirror, and it looks the same as it did yesterday.
how the hell they can tell how dilated you are (i assume they stick fingers up further than i'm willing to go Hmm)

Confused and tired.
just want to go to bed now.
(hope something happens overnight, and doesn't just stop dead like before)

DH is reading the PG book i've got - hope he doesn't decide that i'm not in labour after all Grin

I kept dropping the button on the tens and electrocuting myself at the wrong moments, I still can't decide if it was helpful or not!

Nickelbabe - I hope you're not posting because you're sleeping, or labour is really getting going. Smile

PelvicFloorOfHighTensileTinsel · 03/12/2011 22:16

Crappy timing on the x-post -sorry!

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 22:17

MissPentChristmasBudget · 03/12/2011 22:18

It's your cervix that dilates nickel, you can't tell by looking in a mirror Xmas Grin

EdlessAllenPoe · 03/12/2011 22:32

can second back massage and sleep ;) especially if your DH has nice warm hands.

usingapseudonym · 03/12/2011 22:33

I'm off to bed. At some point my hurty back WILL do something won't it?!

vamosbebe · 03/12/2011 22:50

I've gotta go to bed - early hospital check-up tomorrow.

I hope there's a baby in your arms when I wake up :)

Cyber-back-massages and best of luck!!

Poledra · 03/12/2011 23:10

Hi Nickel - have been popping in to check over the course of today. I told you it'd be tomorrow Wink

Lots of good birthing vibes! (or sleep, if that's the preferred method you've gone for).

deviladvocate · 04/12/2011 00:02

Hello! how exciting a new baby!!! Yay will enjoy the process vicariously, thanks for letting us spectate!

CointreauVersial · 04/12/2011 00:17

Go to bed, all you tired overdue people. Get some sleep. You'll be busy tomorrow.

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 04/12/2011 02:59

Hello? Where is everyone? I thought there might be a baby here by now. But no, just me, a little tipsy after my first night out in almost a year! Hope all is well xx

FellatioNelson · 04/12/2011 03:06

nickel I found the tens a bit annoying in early labour too, but stick with it because by the time the contractions get really strong it will make a difference.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 04/12/2011 03:20

Nickel - I hope you are managing to get some sleep x
