I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

Have you eaten nickel? I remember the MW asking me that when i started labour at home and me saying i'd had a banana sandwich which she said was the perfect thing to eat.

The tens machine I found was an irritant but some swear by them.

Good luck and i hope to read in the morning that you've had Isbn Smile

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 20:33

yes, i've eaten - i had a jacket spud with cheese, roasted veg and a veggie burger.
i might have some ice cream in a minute.

nickel I have to say that it's very 'tidy' of you to finish the working week and then go into proper labour. Hope DH is proud Grin

No no no

You don't put them where the pain is!

One set just below your bra strap and the other 2 need to go 2 horizontal finger thickness above the top of your bottom.

ElfOnTheShelf · 03/12/2011 20:35

That is an excellent meal choice and should keep up your strength.

I am so excited that this is IT now. Enjoy your last few hours as a couple with your DH as you won't be two for long...life will never be the same again - in a good way of course Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 03/12/2011 20:36

I've been lurking for ages a little while, good luck!

mummynoseynora · 03/12/2011 20:41

ooh been watching this since the start, nice to see you getting somewhere nickel!

CumpyGruntWithJinglyBellsOn · 03/12/2011 20:51

I've been lurking as well.

Glad that things are happening finally, good luck nickel

CarolCervix · 03/12/2011 20:55

right. backache.

take one log scarf - like a sarong, and 2 tennis balls (or onions)

wrap balls (or onions) in scarf longways.

tie scarf around your pelvis with the balls either side of your spin where it hurts - right at the bottom.

now lean your back against the wall pressing the balls (or onions) into the achy bits.

roll backwards and forwards, side to side, up and down, massaging your lower back with the balls (or onions).

CarolCervix · 03/12/2011 20:56

another scarf thing.

tie a knot in the end of the scarf and dangle it over the top of a door. close the door and dangle.

CarolCervix · 03/12/2011 20:57

scarf stuff
or google rebozo.

EdlessAllenPoe · 03/12/2011 21:05

Pom Poms

Whoop! Whoop!

notes brave new usage for the EBay scarf<

Go ISBN!

Oooh exciting there is action good luck nickel .

Nothing happening hereSad except i just went to the loo had a show and then it would seem half my vadge fell out Confused and rather ill. Had to get Dh to look, it's not a baby and it doesn't seem to me my waters off to have a bath to try and calm down that it's probably normal and I am not going to turn inside out. Not contracting at all. Was planning on having lots of sex but now what with the pokey out vadge and dh having to check i'm not sure I can twist his arm.

I shall be keeping an eye on the action and want a baby from you by the morning please Grin

ChaosTrulyReigns · 03/12/2011 21:11

Oh nicely, here's wishing you luck, and a marvellous time.

And youtalkin - good luck to you as well - fingers crossed for soon movement.

Smile
nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 21:13

but i've only got one set of pads! that's the problem!
i won't get a double set until tomorrow.
(we've got 2 machines, one has two pads, and the other has 4 pads. the one with 4 pads is the one i forgot to get pads for, so we have the one with 2 pads)

I spent a lot od DS1's labour faffing with the tens machine. Never worked it out but it passed the time. Confused

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 21:16

blimey, talkin - looks like you might be well on the way to beating me!
I haven't had anything fall out of my vadge.

(and i don't think i had my last contraction. :( )
I don't know what's going on now.
I took the tens machine off because the sticky pads were annoying me.
now my back aches into my shoulders (but that might be because i sat on the ssettee)
i did have a contraction at about 10 to 9,. i think.
but i only think.
it felt weird, because sitting on the settee i had my legs out, so it felt like something was pressing into my fanjo.

Good luck pet Xmas Smile

Keep on keeping on!

Sparklingbaubles · 03/12/2011 21:19

See-someone else with a show like I had-at last! Well done talkin! I was beginning to think my 'big poo' show was old fashioned. (DS is 12). Grin

stripeywoollenhat · 03/12/2011 21:22

talkin - i had a look at my nether regions in a mirror this morning (trying to work out what was coming from where Blush) and i've never seen anything so horrid in my life - it looks even more traumatised than it feels.... but no sticking outness as such. i think on yesterday's labour thread (exquisitecorpse?) she had bulginess though and the passing midwives thought it was her waters getting ready to give so maybe that?

CarolCervix · 03/12/2011 21:25

hands and knees and get dh to massage your back.

then go to bed. either you'll wake up in active labour or you'll get a decent sleep and wake up at 9 tomorrow morning ready to try again.

CarolCervix · 03/12/2011 21:26

and if your fadge is geting a bit baggy this is good.

think norway

Pantofino · 03/12/2011 21:32

norway?

Pantofino · 03/12/2011 21:33

I found a warm bath much more effective than the tens machine.
