I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

well, Like a prat, i forgot to send DH to boot's to get the pads for the tens machine.
I had thought about it earlier in the day, but it completely went out of my head.

thankfully, our boot's opens tomorrow at 10 (special christmas opening) so he can go then.
until then, we can use the one we got form his mum (which only has 2 pads instead of 4)

Two will do. Have you had your hourly contraction yet?

Oooh! Not only has this thread gained a baby since I last checked - congrats girls! But also proper contractions - go Nickel!

Sod's law could be back in action if the tens has no pads yet...

You could take a couple of paracetamol if the contractions are getting intense.

i think they're now about 40-45 mins apart.
(i forgot to count one and now i don't know where i am!!)

i think i'm jsut finishing one now. (too busy concentrating on other stuff to count , but i'm all tight and now my back's starting to hurt)

i can definitely feel them, but i'm trying to ignore them (well, trying not to take too much notice of them - can't be obsessed now, can i? )

I used to work at Boots so know the instructions for the TENS if you need any reminders.

i wish this sodding infant would stop reversing in and out of my pelvis like she's trying to learn to park.... bum right back up to my ribs, so heartburn. though i guess i'm knackered and dd1 is flushed and rashy and not right, so just as well if she doesn't turn up tonight....

i couldn't have had sex when both of us were at (different) work!

should i have grabbed a random customer?

(ps i would like to mention that i had a poo earlier, and it didn't stop/slow down the contractions. so they must be real)

mine keeps rolling from left to right. most disconcerting.

corkscrewing him/herself into position, nickel. all good.

FAB - if you can get here with pads, that would be more useful

I would bring pads if I had them!!

If you are having proper contractions you need to get the TENS on now.

I used a tens with DC1. It irritated the HELL out of me.

Then we discovered we had been using it the wrong way round

Can you walk sideways up the stairs? Thats good for getting things going (thinks of lots of made things we can get Nickle to do..)

yeah, i went to look at the times at about 10 past 7.
which would have been fine if they'd been open till 8.

had another one at 1/4 past 8.
that was shorter, i think, but it was a bit more "ooh"

i have put the tens on.
it's not helping much with the back pain (i think it's most likely because i need 4 pads - it's like it's pulsing against the middle of the ache on each side, when I want it to surround the ache on each side.
I daren't try one side at a time)

I cant remember it was 20 years ago! I think we go the dials the wrong way round and kept turning it up at the wrong time and down at the crucial moments.

I just remember trying to rest after a contraction and OH giving me a sodding electric shock!

You know you are actually in labour now dont you ?

Hi Nickel- what a change since last night. Just waiting for Jacks and then we can start putting the champers in ice.
PS I found a warm bath relieved those pains better than any TENS machine

i think i've got them in the right place - i've put them on the spots where the pain is most, and i can feel it pulsing against the achy bit.

I don't know if that's right though.
i've had DH move them around a bit, and they feel most comfortable where they are now.

any extra guidance would be great, though!

i jsut turned it up to a really fast pulse to see what would happen!
