I'm getting really impatient, and Isbn is showing no signs of wanting to be born.

So far:
I am 40+4 today (was due on Saturday)
I am very heavy.
Isbn is currently residing on my bladder, and also a nerve on my left-hand-side hip.
It feels the lowest it has been, and I can't decide whether the tightenings are Isbn's bottom or muscles doing something.
For the past couple of days, I've been feeling sick, like morning sickness, and food has been giving me massive heartburn.

Don't get your hopes up, but I thought it would be a good idea to start the thread, because DH isn't technical enough to start one when the time comes (and is indeed very hesitant about even posting on it)

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 03/12/2011 18:16

Whoohoo sounds like it is starting, all the birthing vibes must have rubbed off on you finally Xmas Grin

stripeywoollenhat · 03/12/2011 18:20

back ache is good, apparently... i am having the odd quite unpleasant thirty seconds here, but so randomly it doesn't mean anything i'm sure. the girl is clearly not interested in being one of the 5% who are born on their due date....

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 18:22

I'm home safely.
we went via the bank and sainsbury's.
i think i had another one at 5 to 6...

i felt very sick on the way home, and when we were walking round sainsbury's, it felt just like having a period.
(for which i'd be allowed to take ibuprofen....)

making dinner now.

i am resigned to days more of this uncomfortable messing about.

sick and periody is definitely promising. i fully expect you to pony up a baby before dawn.

usingapseudonym · 03/12/2011 18:26

Oooh looks like Nickel is going to beat me then!

I still have backache but nothing coming and going and no contractions. I fancy a saturday night baby - fits in well with life so that husband isn't miles away come monday, and childcare would be easier at the weekend. I've been for a long walk on our heath today (that made me go "tight" regularly but all that stopped after the walk) and we have curry coming soon. I don't really believe in the curry thing but its a good excuse to get take out when we don't normally...

Not sure if I want to go to church in the morning. I will yet again get all the comments. If I don't go they will think I've had it though! We saw some friends this afternoon who had wondered if I'd just turn up for tea and cake with the baby as a surprise. I think they were quite disappointed when I didn't.

Good luck Nickel... can you send me some of those contraction - vibes so we both deliver by the morning?!

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 18:39

i need the baby tongiht so my friend can take her time getting down here - have had a chat today about logistics and costs of getting down here on the train at rush hour.

pseudonym - i 've been having the exact same worries baout church.
fed up with certain woman coming into the shop everyday and being really accusatory about the fact it hasn't been born yet. wanted to stab her when she came in today. (thankfully I was busy with tinsel, and DH fobbed her off, cos I was ready to kill - she said "oh, you're getting fed up now aren't you?" I thought "fed up with you, you bloody hag!")
I missed choir last night, and i don't know what they thought. (past caring now...) Grin

ow, twinges.

I had early labour on Friday and Baby FAB was born on Monday morning. So how many days have you been having tightenings???

nickelbabe · 03/12/2011 18:50

oh oh.
i've been tightening since thursday- but it's been in the evenigns, and not at all at night.
today (this afternoon technically!) is the first day where it's actually felt more than tightenings.
and with the back pain at the end (like it's overstrained my body), whereas before, the back ache was a dull ache like i'd been sitting still too long (or in the middle of the night, I'm sure i was lying funny)

LittleDonkeyhadaMadHairDay · 03/12/2011 19:00

Don't you go worrying about church and choir and all that! And if you're having the baby in the morning they'll have to manage without dh. Sure they'll cope Grin

MustControlMincepieOfDeath · 03/12/2011 19:01

Xmas Grin at stripey ''pony up a baby''

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 03/12/2011 19:01

Have you got your tens on yet nickel? Always good to have it working away for a while to make the clever stuff work, plus it's a good distraction trying to get it going properly.

Pantofino · 03/12/2011 19:10

Ooh - marking my place! Good luck Nickel! Here's hoping you can NickelRealLiveBabe by morning!
